Superman: The Animated Series

So I'm a huge fan of the Batman animated series and I've been thinking about picking up volume one of Superman. I've never been that big of a Superman fan, although I love what they did with Batman and it's pretty much the same people working on each one.

Anyone have any of the three volumes?

I have the first, with plans on getting the second and third. I love it to death.

I really think I'm at least going to pick up the first one soon, Bruce Timm is the producer, same as Batman The Animated Series, and Paul Dini also worked on it. Plus I keep hearing great things about it.

If you liked the Batman series, you'll enjoy this one too. I also loved it because it started to delve into the larger DCAU as a whole, with characters like Lobo making debuts.

After I get the next two Batman and all the Superman ones I will have to get the Justice League one's also.

Overall I liked this series, though it tended to be more episode contained. For the most part his rogue gallery didn't impress me too much. I remember he fought a giant ape in one episode, and although it was a homage to one of the old comics, it just seemed ridiculous. I will say I liked the action. At least Superman could punch, and he had some great fights in the series. My favorite episodes involved Darkseid; the two-part Apokolips Now! and the two-part Legacy episodes were amazing. I've never seen that much epic battle and raw emotion in a superhero cartoon.

It's "lighter" than the counterpart (Batman) but it's decent. I own the first 2 seasons.
