yea the ending is cool
but the movie wouldn't even exist if it weren't for halloween
it's a classic sure, but not one of the best
halloween is the pioner of the slashers that came after it.
and pscho was before that which somewhat inspired halloween
and yes halloween is one of my most fav horror movie
as my avatar suggests

i diddent say they were shit, theres good ones like the grudge and the ring.
i just find the subtitles annoying its distracting
the grudge and the ring aren't even two of the best.
just because you're too lazy to read doesn't mean they're not making great horror movies over there.

After watching them both again tonight, I have to say it's a tie between Severance and Hatchet. 2007, even with some duds, has been a great year for horror movies in general.
And you have (coming up):
30 Days of Night
100 Tears
Aliens VS Predator: Redemption
Catacombs
Diary of the Dead
Grizzly Park
House on Haunted Hill 2
Joshua
The Killing Floor
La Terza Madre
Lake Dead
MacBeth
Mother of Tears
Murder Party
P2
Pathology
Resident Evil: Extinction
Saw 4
Shrooms
The Signal
The Strangers
Sweeney Todd
Trick 'r Treat
The Tripper
Unearthed
Wrong Turn 2
And we could possibly get My Name is Bruce (though it's still looking as if it'll get pushed to 2008) and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane comes out in 2008. Even if you don't like that list, you have to agree that some of the films (Severance, Behind the Mask) have tried to come up with fresh ideas to put into horror films. And even Wrong Turn 2 and House on Haunted Hill 2 are going in a different sort of approach. So I'm very excited to see how this year will turn out.

Seems like everyone loves 28 Days Later. I like it too but mostly for the cinematography, the writing, and other technical aspects. However, I feel that it lacked the horror feel to it. I consider it more of a drama/thriller even though it's a zombie movie.

Oh and the first film that comes to mind when I think of good horror is Wrong Turn. It was like a classic horror flick and the tension all throughout was nerve-wracking.
