Doe and Heroes are best bet... buy both if you can!

get into the "big 3" first (Jane Doe, You Fail Me, and No Heroes)

then slowly work backwards to Petitioning the Empty Sky and When Forever Comes Crashing

after you're a fan of that, go ahead and get the splits and the "Caring is Killing" compilation.

I find anyone who tries to ween themselves onto converge any other way either has a really fractured idea of what the band is, or develops a distaste for them.

oh, and I realize you asked which ONE you should pick up, but to be perfectly honest, once you get one you're going to want another one ASAP.

i agree. ptes gets no love because the recording is shitty quality, which don't get me wrong, the recording in ptes is no where near as good at the last 3 of their albums, but if you try to ignore the quality and just listen to the songs it's actually a really solid album. especially the saddest day, def my favorite song by them.
