View Full Version : Our plan...

My and my friend(who is 16, in 2 months) have to put up with a lot
of crap from our parent's. Both of our dad's are abusive and we can't take
it anymore. We have a plan, to runaway since the police are Bitches and
wont help or believe us. He will get a car after his Liscence which he will have
soon, and then we'll leave. But, the only problem is... if we get caught before we
turn 18, its goodbye life and hello jail.... i already told him that i would kill myself
before i let that happen, because im not about to rot in jail for the rest of my life.
but don't get me wrong, im not suicidal. He isnt either, its only a last resort and is to
be avoided at all cost. what should we do?

Why don't the police listen to you guys? That sucks. Well i don't know much about your situation but I will pray and ask the Lord to protect in what ever choice you make. Don't you have some family to run to?

Tell your neighbors or something, teachers, anyone...cops should listen...

If you really wanna do it just do it. Your not going to get sent to juvy if it is your first offense. I have run away before and all the cops do is give you a warning and tell you that the next time you get caught running away then they will send you to jail. Killing yourself isn't the way either. If you get caught then you will just be on probabtion or house arrest. Try to move to a relatives or something. If you are still thinking of running away then just away from main roads and travel at night.

i don't understand how you'll be sent to jail for life if you run away, and get caught before 18. please explain

You can't thats just the thing they aren't going to put you in jail if you run away. First time its a warning and then the second time you do get sent to juvy for a few weeks or a month or whatever it's been to long since a cop explained it to me.

Okay, there's a lot more things to consider if you want to run away. Where are you going to stay? Are you going to rent a place? Stay at a motel? Where are you getting the money for this? You would have to drop out of school because your parents will obviously notify the school, and you probably know how bad it'll be to get jobs.
My advice, man up, tell a counselor at school or someone who works with social services, they should believe you if you go to their offices and talk to them. You only have a few more years until you go to college and you'll barely see your parents.

Let me point a few of the obvious flaws in this rant:
1. First of all, you're 15, and though I really know nothing about your life with the exception of those few barely coherent sentences you insisted on slapping us with, I'm willing to bet everything I own that it probably isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. But if your dad really does beat you, why not "man up" and tell the dude to fuck off? What's he going to do? Beat you again? Old news.
2. So, your friend is going to get a car and you're going to drive away to paradise? Let's see, to drive a car, you need gas, and gas costs money, and at the age of 15, I'm finding it a tad bit hard to believe you're rolling in dough. Let's not forget that to drive a car, it's probably a decent idea to be ensured, and as your friend is only 15 at the moment as well, it's also difficult to believe that this "car" he's going to "get" likely wasn't insured by the parents he's running away from.
3. Let me introduce you to my good friend the cost of living! Have you given any thought to what you're going to eat, what you're going to drink, where you're going to sleep, and more or less how you're going to survive? Now unless you have a grandma living in a house made of diamonds with open arms ready to take the both of you in, it looks like you're shit out of luck. Open your eyes, kid. The world's not quite as simple as it might be at 15.
4. Again, I know nothing about you, so I won't make petty assumptions, but why is your dad beating you to begin with? More often that not, there's usually a reason, unless your dad's just a piece of shit.
5. Newsflash, you can't go to jail for running away from your home. As a matter of fact, the worst punishment you could probably get slammed with is another two-hander from ol' pops, which you'd probably deserve that time around for your brain dead scheme.

Call child services, not the police.
Even if they think that you're lying, they are bound by law to "believe" you and set up a trial, or whatever.
...so, if you are serious about this, then..hello foster care.
I can't believe people actually post their problems here, and get serious responses...this is hilarious.

just beat your dad with a bat or something. then when the cops show up, say "oh. it wasn't a big deal when he was beating me...i figured it was okay"
uhm...i'm pretty sure running away will not land you in jail...and even if it did i highly doubt that you would be in "rotting in jail for the rest of your life."
i think with a crime that minor...you could easily be bailed out.
why dont you get jobs and rent a grimey flat somewhere?
i shouldnt have to give you this advice.
pssht..and you call yourselves juvenile delinquents!

yes, you must abide to the rules of the rant.
but no face your problems, running away will most likely get you nowhere, unless you somehow have alot of money, and eventually things will be even worse then they are now for you.

Let me introduce you guys to something...fear. It's what makes me weak, and breaks me. But, its also what keeps me alive. My dad is over 6 feet tall and is very, very, strong. Thats how he controls
me, by making me afraid. He did horrible things to my sister before she turned 18 and moved out.
A few times he nearly killed her. I mean, if you saw your sister get drug across the floor by her hair
and get thrown on a couch and get beaten till she almost bled... Wouldn't you be afraid? that was over 2 years ago, but still...No one believes me about him. He isnt nearly half as bad as he once
was, but all the same, i can't put up with it anymore. Does anyone watch the show Degrassi: the next generation? in the early episodes, there is a boy named craig. He was 14 and his dad beat him. His dad acts just like mine. the only difference was that his dad was playing a role on t.v., mine isnt. My dad has many guns locked up in a safe and has access to many weapons. but with his
brutality, he doesn't need them. so it'd be unwise to try to fight him. He threatens to send me to juvinile if I ever run away. I've learned over the years, that his words have meaning. It's not just empty threats. so, does that clear anything up? As soon as summer ends, im leaving while my parents are at work and going to a friends house. after living there for 2 months, my friend will have his liscence and we'll go on a road trip and be able to leave this place for good. The only thing that really disturb's me, is that my dad still says he loves me. Even though I hate him. Is that a joke or what?!
but, dont get me wrong. im not trying to act like a defense-less little kid.
im just asking for opinions or advice, nothing more, norhing less...dont hate me
for it.

Do you have bruises? You should probably show someone if you do. Call child services and have them take pictures of the bruises and start a case against him.

All the same, your whole "the police don't believe me" speech sounds more to me like a "I'm too afraid to turn in my father" cover-up to me. Since when is it an officer's job to believe people? If you have bruises, cuts, and clear-cut evidence staring them in the face, how can they simply turn a blind eye to the situation? None of this makes sense to me. Have you really spoken to the police, or are you, as I suggested, afraid to admit you're scared of what consequences you might face from your father if you report these incidents? You know, there isn't much a father stuck on child abuse can do behind a set of bars. Think about it.
