I don't know if people in the States have even heard of them? Now that they're on a major, hopefully you will soon if you haven't already.
The new album 'Puzzle' is amazing. Anyone who's heard it, what do you think?

Yes, they are incredible <3
Saturday Superhouse is a great song. They are just releasing Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies, I think.

i just saw them tonight, btw, and the new stuff is a lot more exciting live.
aaaand they played some old songs that i would've never guessed they would play (all the way down, scary mary, liberate the illiterate) and it was pretty mint.

the vertigo of bliss was one of my favourite albums for a while, but i've gone off them a lot since then.
the new album is okay, but if you are going to listen to them grab TVoB or Infinity Land imo.
i might catch them at leeds fest this year, see what they are like live.

Agreed, I haven't heard puzzle yet, I hope its good as I quite like all the singles so far even though they sound a bit more happier and upbeat than some of their earlier stuff.
I'm gonna go watch them at reading this year as I haven't seen them live since 03

All the Way Down was great when I saw them.
The only song they didn't play that I would have liked to had seen was Questions and Answers.

I've never heard of them anywhere but on this board. Everyone here seems to love them though. I should check it out.
Not that I'm judging on the name, but that's a really terrible name for a band.

Blackened Sky has some good tracks but some are boring as shit and Justboy is one of the gayest songs I've ever heard by any band I actually like.

i didn't say it was a shit album - i said it was shit in comparison to their others (i blame 'who's got a match?').
if you compare it to any other band then it's excellent... just it's not biffy at their best, imo.

yeah well, if the majority of people had any sense, biffy would've got really popular back in 2002.
i'm glad the popularity is finally coming to them but... i don't know... it would've been nice if they didn't have to sacrifice some of their style in order to get there. i think the new album is just really bland and uninventive in comparison to their other albums.

Fair one there. I enjoy the old Biffy sound and the new Biffy sound so it's kind of equal for me but the production on the older albums, especially the vocals, ruined some of their most awesome songs for me, so I'm much happier with the way the new one sounds.

This fucking band owns everyone's souls. Their new disc is pop rock/indie gold...these guys and Therapy? are the best bands nobody in the States listens to. Fuck my country. Not really, but come on.

going to see them in blackpool this sat, will be the 5th time i have seen them i think.
they are good, the 2 newer albums are not a patch on 'infinity land'
if your into straight forward good rock sound go for 'puzzle'
if you want something dark and more inventive get 'infininity land' the album is stupidly good

Not a fan of Infinity Land at all. Blackened Sky and Puzzle are my favourite releases from them.

Biffy Clyro are absolutely brilliant. I've bumped a few of the threads before but they usually descend back into the thread abyss before a proper chat can start.
So, I'm gonna throw it out there, Only revolutions is a bit disappointing really. When it's good, it's really fucking good (The Captain, That Golden Rule, Mountains and Whorses are among the best songs they've ever written). However, there are too many 'meh' songs, I find it hard to get excited about listening to songs like Shock Shock, Know Your Quarry and Bubbles. I don't think it's anywhere near the level of Infinity Land or Puzzle. Any thoughts?
Also, I dunno if anyone else downloads their B sides, but I think toottoottoot is absolutely amazing, and definitely would have improved the album. What are other people's favourite B sides from Only Revolutions?

I think that Only Revolutions is a great album. The tracks you mentioned are all awesome but I like Bubbles and God And Satan too. The whole album is a good pop rock record and is definitely worth the success it's had.
Puzzle is my favourite album from them, not heard any of the B-Sides though.

They are hit and miss on their CDs before Puzzles and Revolutions imo, but Ive just gotten into them.
I haven't read the rest of the thread but I'm sure it's been discussed. This band used to be fucking sick now they play shitty pop-rock music.
Has anyone listened to Lonely Revolutions? I haven't heard much talk about it on here, but I absolutely love it. It's my first album I've listened to from this band, but it has some sick jams on there.

Lonely Revolutions is the b-side album they brought out. It's got the b sides from the singles on Only Revolutions. It's pretty good in itself, but you'd be better off getting a proper album.

Was just thinking about this band. Only Revolutions was released a whole year ago next week and is still sitting in the UK top 30 albums chart. I honestly don't think this band knows how popular they are over here.

I don't know how many of you check the Bsidesrus website, but they posted some early Biffy demos a little while ago. One is from 96, and the other two are from 98. They're not brilliant by any means, but there are some early versions of tracks that later ended up on Blackened Sky. I'm pretty sure it's okay to post the links, because its not like you can buy these anywhere. If its not okay though, just let me know and ill remove the links.
