I think the highlights were definetly You Dont Know as the closer and Millstone with Jesse banging those drums. Crowd was decent, way too many people throwing shit and talking. Not the kind of atmosphere you want at a Brand New show, but I think 80% of the crowd was either drunk jocks or 13 year old. Even Jesse said something about the 13 year olds. I think the Bowery show wasnt as energetic due to the small stage. If it was only 500 people there tonight instead of the 2000+ it would have been so much better cause tonights show was amazing.

I was there too. I agree w/ you about the crowds. I thought they were pretty awful though, especially during Anathello.
The song from yfw was shower scene and he didn't play cotton crush. You left off the best parts of the set list though! Untitleds 1 and 5
Brand New was so on tonight though. Amazing show.

Dude I just got back from the Borgata show and they didn't play Cotton Crush cause that's not even their song. Plus Kevin Devine was not in attendance. You failed to mention that they play Untitled 5 and Untitled 1 which was awesome to see live. I wish the crowd would of been a little better and I wish people would stop shouting "Seventy Times Seven" during acoustuc song (especially during Play Crack The Sky). They need to remember that Brand New is not their ipod and they should stfu doing acoustic songs. awesome solid show though

there were also 2 drummers for many songs, and is the 3rd guitarist always been around or just on tour??
The third guitarist is Derrick Sherman, and I'm pretty sure they added him for the recording of TDAGARIM. I do know for a fact he doesn't play all the songs live though, because I got his set list on Saturday at the Crazy Donkey and all of the songs they played that night weren't on it.

okay, so.
brand new was awesome, as usual, but seriously, worst crowd ever. we were a row back or two, and all these little pussies with their girlfriends were so afraid to get pushed that everytime they did, they flipped out about it and complained. there were a lot of douchebags in the crowd that kept on screaming stupid shit during brand new's set such as the token "play seventy times seven, jude law, etc." grow the fuck up. let the band play what they wanna play. there were way too many young (and i mean young, christ) girls that only showed up to hear sic transit and jesus christ. i'm fairly certain that their parents dropped them off in the ballroom and went to play the slots downstairs. i've made it a rule to never let the crowd ruin shows for me, especially when i'm seeing my favorite band, but honestly, they almost did.
a few notes:
jesse introduced the band as the red hot chili peppers.
absolutely no one in the vicinity of me knew the words to coca cola or either of the demos... actually, no one really knew any of the words to anything not on deja.
play crack the sky and untitled 1 were absolutely amazing.
and this was my favorite part of the night:
a lot of assholes were talking and yelling during the colour revolt and anathallo, to which jesse later remarked: "it's okay, i guess when you all turn 14 you'll start to appreciate good music." it was classic.
all in all, the bands were great. anathallo seriously impressed me, even though the majority of the audience was either bored, perplexed, or making fun of something that (and i quote the kids behind me) "wasn't fast, loud, or good. bring out brand new!!". colour revolt was great, saw them last year on the last summer tour. overall, i still think the show in philly last month was better, because that whole bill was fucking amazing and you could just feel an energy there that was somewhat lacking last night. brand new continues to not disappoint, and on my fourth time seeing them, they played a great, pretty varied set.

Brand New was excellent last night, they always are. Vinnie is a trip to watch live. He was wearing 3-D glasses towards the end of the set.
Hearing Untitled 5 and 1 live was a fucking treat. I would have loved to hear Untitled 2.
They broke into about a five minute long jam during "Tommy Gun" that was excellent.
Welcome to Bangkok was crazy because pretty much all of the the three bands were on stage for it.
The third guitarist was going nuts all set. He was jumping all around.
And overall they just seemed to be having way more fun than when I saw them last summer. Jesse seemed to enjoy being up on stage, he was playing to the crowd.

they seemed really into it, and although there was little stage banter, what jesse said was always classic
'this song is about magnets'
'once you turn 14, you'll appreciate good music'
loved it.
Sucks to hear kids were making fun of Anathallo.

Colour Revolt was awesome but Anathallo did nothing for me. I think they lost 75 percent of the crowd last night and not to mention they were having alot of diffculties with the vocals. I heard so many good things about this band but live I found them boring and to complex.
