At a mall in Augusta, GA Set Your Goals (http://www.absolutepunk.net/setyourgoals) were arrested for "disturbing the public." After spending over $2,000 on bail the band has been released. Apparently the band was singing to some fans who bought them smoothies when they were arrested.

I grew up in the area and I frequented that mall. It's a shithole, and the security there is comprised of pissed off rent-a-cops. I hate it for these guys; the Augusta "scene" is just now reviving itself again...

"So today myself and some of my band went to the mall with the Fireworks dudes and some kids at the "razzberry cool" smoothie shop recognized us and hooked us up so we talked to them for a minute and started chanting "razzberry cool!" in celebration of our new friends hooking us up with free smoothies. Little did we know we'd barely get to enjoy them. As soon as we thanked them and started walking away, 2 sheriffs walked over and started pushing Fireworks' merch guy Tony and threatening to arrest him. They tell us to leave so we turn around and start walking away and after no more than 2 steps they grab Jordan and start cuffing him. We all turn around and ask what they're doing and they start cuffing all of us and accusing us of "disorderly conduct" while pushing us down a back hallway. As soon as we're all in there one officer says "close that door!" and once it does he slams me against the wall, grabs me by the throat, and shoves my head down and elbows me in the back, shouting "sit down!" We all got taken to this sweet hotel for the night with free indoor heating and 15 person per room capacity AAAND, it was only $285/person... what a steal! We sat in a cell together for the past 7 hours and tried to understand what language the local dudes in there were speaking while waited for Dave and the rest of Fireworks to sort out the paperwork and pay our $2,000 collective bail. We sat and talked in the cell the entire time and I even managed to scratch "SYG + FIREWORKS 5/26/07" into the wall in huge letters. Needless to say that getting those smoothies with a side of police brutality was a major snacksident."

I went to their show the night before, though, and it was absolutely amazing. This band is incredible, and I'm sorry that happened. They should of mentioned the fact that they had a shirt of their band being sold in that mall.

Really? Their recorded stuff bores me to tears (a little too New Found Glory for me) but I thought they were great live.

The first time I saw them, they were horrible live and I seriously could not understand what everyone liked about them. I actually thought everyone just sarcastically liked them or something, haha. That was in a House of Blues though, biggish venue. The next time I saw them, it was in a bigger venue, (but I was in the front row so I couldn't tell it was a big venue) and they had definately improved their performance, but they were still missing something. And then I saw them once again a few days later in a small venue, and they pwn3d that shit to pieces. That's how I actually came to like them, that show.

As for their recorded stuff; I've definately had that stuff on repeat, all day, multiple times.

I just saw Set Your Goals in NJ on Monday and they talked about this event as well as the meaning behind the tour name "The Snacksident Tour". Not everyone in SYG got arrested, Jordan said it was only like 2 of them and the rest of the band got the bail money. It is a funny story and a story I'm sure they'll be telling for awhile. They're nice guys and fun live, please go see them if you can. For those who are seeing them, the order is: Fireworks, Driving East, Just Surrender, and Set Your Goals.
