I've always wanted to go to one of these "listening parties" because they seem so hilariously stupid, especially considering our Hot Topic can comfortably fit about 3 people. I think i'll go. : D

What happens at these listening parties? Can you listen to the CD privately through a listening station or do they simply play it through the speakers in the store? Hot Topics are notoriously small. I wouldn't want to listen to a new CD with a bunch of strangers judging a CD, too.

I'd go because I really want to hear the album claimed to be "catchy as balls," but I've got plans and I hear HT listening 'parties' are really lame. Our hot topic is actually really big, and could hold comfortably 30-ish people but whatever. My friend went to the MCR one and said it was stupid.
