"Music From The Motion Picture"

Confetti on the floor,
Best wishes in the air.
A pulse beating through our lives
Like metronomes out of time.
The radio’s blaring but I don’t hear a word.
Just the sound of the night, the blowing of air,
And five bodies caught in the moment,
Tell me this will never end.

And though we’re on the parkway,
I don’t see any signs for miles.
I don’t know where we’re headed,
Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve got this girl asleep at my side,
Says she wants to be my wife.
I’d let her see me grow old
But maybe she’ll never call me again.
In my mind we’ve skidded off the road,
Crashed into some trees.
Our parents would cry,
But for once we’d be front-page news.

And though we’re on the parkway,
I don’t see any signs for miles.
I don’t know where we’re headed,
Wouldn’t have it any other way.

And though we’re on the parkway,
I don’t see any signs for miles.
I don’t know where we’re headed,
Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Suspended on the parkway,
The traffic lights for miles,
We can’t seem to find a beacon,
Let’s hope they find one in me.
