Does anyone have any recommendations? Especially for their older stuff (Translating The Name and the Saosin EP); I loved how fast-paced they were..

I would say there's not a HUGE change from their self-titled LP and the Saosin EP, as both have Cove, but with Anthony on T.t.N, I'd say the pace was a bit more energy. So I'd definitely agree with you there.
If I had to recommend a song to you, besides Seven Years, I'd say "They Perch on their stilts" is pretty freaking sick. The single-stroke rolls towards the fade out are ridiculous. The drummer goes crazy it seems.
If you don't have that track already, feel free to P.M. me, or check out that B-Sides thread, I think I remember Translating the Name appearing there somewhere...
Hope this helps!

Yep, they're awesome songs XD. Their drummer is amazing, especially on songs like Lost Symphonies. Sorry, I should have been clearer; does anyone know of any artists that sound similar to Saosin's older stuff?

Yeah I was wondering if there are any '03 Saocore revival bands around. I'd like to at least hear one. The LP bores me overall. Basically: Has any band made a "Translating the Name Part 2" ?

I still need to buy Translating the Name.
Its not in stores, and its like 25 bucks last time I checked Amazon.
Thats ridiculous for like 5 songs...

Try Smartpunk for it... I know that used to be a decently priced place to pick it up.

i saw the cd at this shop. the guy at the counter was trying to get me to buy it and i was thinking, "five songs isnt really worth starving myself at lunch for two weeks" and now that I know that it's rare, I wish I could've gotten it. :(

I recommend buying a Thursday album because unlike Saosin they are actually good.
did you go into a saosin thread just to say that?

and i personally think some of the old finch stuff (what it is to burn) reaches the kind of intensity you're looking for... like the song "project mayhem"
