We've just posted a 3 song ABSOLUTExclusive sampler on Straylight Run (http://www.absolutepunk.net/straylightrun)'s AP Profile (http://www.absolutepunk.net/straylightrun). Head there for a satisfying preview of the band's major label debut, The Needles, The Space, to be released on June 19th.

Now I guess the total is about 6 songs that I have heard from this record... so far I'm really not liking it. Besides 'buttoned' down every song seems to be lacking the conviction and heart the songs from their debut and EP had. I don't get the sense of vocally or musically that the band is putting all their heart behind it(probably a really unfair assesment). Production wise, the songs seem poor as well not one instrument jumps out at me, it has a dull feeling overall. This could simply just be me not liking their progression which is fine, I still have tremendous respect for the band and still am a fan, and remember this is just my opinion, feel free to disagree just don't chastise me.

After listening about five times to these songs, they are so much better than the self-titled it's not even funny. I really hope this record gets a good response, because it is great (so far).

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssss, you have no idea how happy this has made me.

I love you, Mr. Press. A lot.

Definitely a lot different from their S/T, which I adored, but this is still great. I hope people give this album a chance, and don't just pass it off because it's not old Straylight.

You can hear "The Miracle That Never Came" here (http://www.myspace.com/straylightrun), and "Buttoned Down" here (http://www.straylightrun.com/).

mark my words; this could be the biggest disappointment of the year. (not Mae)
also Motion City Soundtrack is in contention for that title...

buttoned down is still my favorite... i dont know nothing really stands out on these tracks, maybe its just the production? it seems very weak to me.
