I'm getting a late start on this, but I host a radio show at my college radio station, and I was asked to host a tribute show this Sunday honoring and remembering the lives lost in the 9/11 attacks. I need patriotic songs, anything from "God Bless America" all the way to songs written specifically about that day. I want to have a lot of options and diversity in the songs I play, so if you have any suggestions at all, I would be so grateful. It can be any genre of music. I have stuff from James Brown to Billy Ray Cyrus to Yellowcard. Anything would be absolutely amazing. Thank you!

Stroke 9 recorded a post-September 11th version of "Kick Some Ass" live that is about as patriotic as I can think of--not too hard to find. Good lord, that reminds me of a Good Charlotte/Goldfinger/Mest song called "The Innocent" about 9/11, we're definitely talking a different era of musical taste for me.

EDIT: The understandably hawkish ultrapatriotism of the Stroke 9 leads me to want to throw in "Makeshift Patriot" by Sage Francis--definitely not something you'd want to play, but is a good rebuttal.

Yes, you read that right.

Also, why the 1488?

Also, why the 1488?

14 because it's my favorite number and 88 is the year I was born. Only recently did I learn that both those numbers have some negative connotations, but it's too late. I've been using it on every email/username for the past 10+ years.

Haha, alright. It was just kind of funny because the first time I saw you post was in a thread about patriotic music and you have 1488 in your name.

I'm almost scared to ask what those numbers signify, because I've since forgotten. Just know, it's not the case with me.

1488 is used together but signifies two different things. 14 stands for the 14 words which are "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White Children" and 88 stands for HH which is "Heil Hitler".
