Love, Truly

Love is no emotion
it's more of a thought
Easily bought.
A notion.
In a 7 dollar movie ticket
or in a "love" story's words
Love is not distinguished
by and by
in several ways of thought and thinking
Love is not defined
by sacrifice-
it is defined
by rice, yes rice
the rice thrown at a wedding
the wedding of two
people who know
nothing
of love
and love knows
nothing
of them
Love is a farse
it is an unaccredited
institution
Joined in holy matrimony
Ha. totally phony
Romance and desire
are the kindling of a
nonexistant fire
There are four parts of this so-called
Love-
Lust,
Attraction,
Interest,
Desire
inevitably spelling laid
the true action of this
fake word Love
which gives way to new components-
Passion,
Attraction,
Interest,
Necessity
inevitably spelling pain
Love is pain.
Defined.

i love to write. it's more for myself than anybody else. i swear i'm not a total pessimist. promise.

I like the overall effect I get from this. Some parts seem like a poem, some are more a dialogue, and some even seem like a lecture or lesson. I like how you compare love to a movie ticket or rice, but I found it even more interesting before the connections were described so directly to me. So I guess it was the mystery that peaked my interest, making me think.

thaaaanks. that's a new way to look at it. i wrote this after i found out my sister was getting a divorce, so that's why it's kind of bashing love.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. Writing is definitely a good way to express feelings and vent about unanswered questions. Bashing is understandable. If you see some of my posts, you see how i've written mostly at times frustration and confusion.

I like most of it. Esp. the line "romance and desire are the kindling of a nonexistent fire." The only part I didn't like was "totally phony." It seemed like it was a kinda forced rhyme and I just personally don't like that word in songs. But I really did like the rest of it.

haha. true, true. very cool, guys. thanks for the feedback. if it means anything at all, i don't really like the word phony either, but it came out in my head so i felt obligated to write it with the rest. you know? maybe i'm just weird like that. lol.
