Best player in tennis right now?I would say so after beating Federer again today he should be ranked #1

He certainly deserves to be #1 after another victory over Federer. This kid's been so dominant lately!

I disagree. I'd be more inclined to think so if he beats Federer in other grand slam tournaments.

Yes, he should definitely be number one. He handled Federer pretty easily today, only dropping one set. He is practically unbeatable on clay. Rafa is the man.

Exactly...when Nadal wins on more than clay, then we can talk. Federer wins 3 out of 4 majors and you want to crown Nadal as better than him...even Dennis Green would be mad at that. Seems kind of foolish to me. It was Federer who broke Nadal's clay court match streak the other week as well...

are you all on drugs? nadal is fantastic, but lets be honest, his best surface is clay. Federer has won 6 of the last 8 majors (the two losses being the french to nadal). Let's see nadal win a major on another surface and then we will talk.

after reading the first few posts i was glad people actually responded with some common sense. nadal is the best 1/4 of the year. it's just too bad for him the rest of the year is played on hard and grass courts and federer will dominate again.

I didn't get a chance to get on here since the French Open Final so here's my two cents...

It seemed to me like Federer didn't care in the first set. The look on his face and his expressions made it seem like he thought he was already going to win. Nadal played very nicely though and is still my favorite player. I'll be at the U.S. Open, cheering him on all the way. Along with Justine Henin-Hardene. Glad to see these two took the titles for the third time in a row.
