screamo is a stupid label solely invented by record companies to hype bands of a certain style to increase record sales. screamo is a blend of scream and emo, you might consider bands like Finch, The Used or A Static Lullaby "screamo"

Oh yeah, A Fitting Lie said something like that. They're all pop-punk to me. I really hate these sub-labels.

No, WRONG. I would never say dumb shit like that.

- Screamo was not created by the media. It was only glorified and used in the wrong way by them. After emo bands (yes, screamo is just another way of saying emo) like Saetia came out in the mid-to-late 90's, people started calling them screamo, because emo was dying and indie rock stuff like SDRE was taking over. Screamo means the same thing as emo. And emo has screaming, so that definition above is wrong.

Saosin is not emo/screamo.

I've heard Saosin, really aren't emo. Audio Karate probably works for a major label or went to a site with definitions of all these genres.

A Fitting Lie, I re-read the post some kid started with "what's emo?" and I was wrong. You did say it was just another word for emo. It's just so fucking lame how these fucking labels are getting slapped around all these risings bands. It seems to me that labels emphasize on making up this stuff just to gain popularity and say "Our label had the first screamo, blah blah blah, etc. bands." I should stop at this rant.
