I was curious to know if anyone owns an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar - and how is it? I'm starting to invest in one now.

I would own one of those...if my music store took less than 4 fucking weeks to get a shipment in.

Yeah and I'm on a budget. ;) I found a nice used one though for about four hundred bucks, with some guitar polish, it looks brand new.

I was also thinking about changing the back pick-up to a gibson pick-up...but I first may mess around with it and see if I like the sound 'cause I heard now they're making newly designed Epiphone pick-ups in the Gibson factory.

It'd be great is Epiphone made SG's too! Unless you're talking about the SG special, which is plywood with fishing line attached to it.

I believe you're refering to a G-400 or G-310.

I own an epiphone les paul studio. not quite what you're talking about. but close to it. All i can say is after playing the gibson version, my epiphone sounds like ass. if you do get the epiphone, definitely get some better pickups. not that they're horrible, but just once you experience the gibson you won't be able to go back to the mediocore epiphone. but epiphones are so nicely priced. argh.
