I was at the DTR show tonight in Minneapolis, MN...these were some highlight events

FUNNY STORY 1:

im at the drive thru invasion tour & im in line to get a shirt and the drummer from the starting line is just leaning against the front of the counter and no one was like saying anything to him, so im like ok ill have him sign stuff etc. yipee....then theres these girls next to me getting The starting line shirts and when he moved on to sign my brothers stuff they asked me "Hey...who is that?"...im like "umm tom from the starting line" and they go OMG! and run to have him sign stuff

FUNNY STORY 2:

i was standing in line and senses fail was signing a few things and these girls have their starting line tshirts and are like OMG I LOVE U GUYS I JUST BOUGHT UR SHIRTS..can u sign them for us and Buddy was just like...um thats not our shirt..and the girls r like"wheres the starting line then"and he was like...i do not know..and look away

FUNNY/SAD STORY 3:

So after the show im waiting out side the early november tour bus becuase i am a huge fan and i wanted to talk with them again cuz i had already met them in march and stuff...well there was about 10 of us there and someone came out and was like jeff will be out in a bit...so were waiting and john walks out of the tour bus with what looked like a 15 year old girl holding his had with another lil girl linked on to her...he passed up everyone waiting and walked away(later more girls kept exiting their bus)...later jeff finally came by and did the exact same thing blew off fans who waiting for him hed rather be gettin with the lil girls...

FUNNY!!!!

Ace pantsed buddy in the middle of the senses fail set

Or better and better - if you are a 15-year old boy.

hi, i'm a 15 year old guy... umm... i've been listening to this type of music and going to these shows for sometime now, and i must say i agree with all of you who say the crowds are getting pritty shitty because of all the girls screaming and shit like that. i dont think i'm going to the drive thru tour for that reason. it sucks cuz in my town i'm like one of the few people who like TEN and SF and suddenly TSL gets big and all these trendy girls start acting like "ace is so hott!!!" "OMG!! BUDDY!!". but yeah.... whatever. i'm really just trying to say not all 15 year old fans suck.

Sounds like a normal tsl show to me. I stopped going to there shows last year even though they are my favorite band because of this. All these girls would just crowd up front and I would be the only straight guy that actually likes the band that is up there. Same thing happens at Plain White Ts shows.

Your stories are funny.

I have an extremely sad one from the Denver show.

During The Early November, this girl asked my friend Jodi and I who was playing. We were like, "The Early November." Then the girl said thanks, looked at the lead singer and told us "oh my god he is so hot! I want to sleep with him!" Pathetic.

The show here turned out to be a lot of fun and I don't really like any of those bands. The best part of the night was hanging out with PJ (TEN's merch boy) until 2:00am.

Girls at concerts suck but Honda civic tour was the worst.. NFG concerts are pretty good about the girls and there stupidity but GC is awful i seriously saw some 8 year old fans... very stupid, screaming girls need to leave.. all the songs are about how stupid they are n e way

that last thing about TSL is pretty funny.
alienating 80% of your fanbase is admittingly hilarious.

and not to be a dick, or state it just to play the devil's advocate, but every time a band with a girl in it is mentioned, someone, including myself, makes up for most of the comments with "shit, [she] is fuckin' smoking". tsunami bomb, teen idols...i mean we do it too.

but i will say we don't base our entire decision on going to shows about it.

and who gives a fuck if you don't know what someone from a band you like looks like? i'm probably that way with at least 50-60% of the bands I listen to.

oh, and it would be cool if Kenny was an atheist because then any girl between the ages of 13 and 17 with a brother that picked up the Drive-Thru comp would automatically follow his beliefs and still say "OMG he's so hott!..i mean, OM!"

I'll tell you why, it's because they like those bands. Drive-thru is pop music, so naturally little girls will like most of those bands.(and go to their shows)

I'm a girl... i don't do the squimish thing... can't say that i've seen too much of it at any of the shows i've been to recently but that's because i don't go to pop shows.

GAAHH I saw The Starting Line at Warped Tour and these girls behind me were like, "EEKK!! It's Kenny! Oh my Gawd...he's so hawt!" I wanted to hit them so bad. I mean, yeah, I think Kenny is hot (who doesn't!?), but since I know that I'm never going to go out with him or anything, I don't get that excited. You can't really have a crush on someone you don't know. A lot of people think that just because they think someone is attractive, they like them.

Anyway, those stories are pretty funny. Especially when they thought that Buddy was from The Starting Line...Buddy should've just started to laugh in their faces and made them feel stupid.

preteen girls have infiltrated the concert scene... majorly.

i have to say, though, it can't be any worse than an all american rejects concert.

Actually, Finch and The Starting Line are both on MTV2. Also, Midtown did the opening for Road Rules.

I'm a 16 year old girl and I don't think its wrong for me to be at a concert like DriveThru Tour, but 12 maybe alittle young...

At the Brand New/Dashboard/MxPx/Vendetta Red concert there was this 11 year old girl next to me, she was definitly the youngest person at the show and she kept screaming "CHRIS I LOVE YOU" when dashboard was playing heh.. but she knew all the words to Vendetta Red and Brand New, so I guess she was exposed to the music at a younger age, she was with a group of older kids so who knows..

at Civic Tour there was 10 year olds (I had seets not the floor bleh) in front of me w/ their mother, they stood for Good Charlotte and then NFG came on they sat the whole time so I guess they only knew GC...and the mother gave me a dirty look when the used's "taste of ink" was playing while they were changing sets and i was singing and i said "4 o clock in the fucking morning" heh..

ha.. good. the last time i saw the starting line (april), i noticed the crowd change. these girls next to me were like "omg there's kenny! he's so hot! theyre all hot" and they were all jumpy and squealing.

when i saw the early november last year in november, i saw some guy from the band (the hot one i guess) all over some bimbo chick after the show. and the rest of the members were in a little circle outside making it awkward for you to go up and talk to them.

i'm going to the dashboard tour next sunday (to see brand new mostly) and the venue is freaking huge. i havent been there but my sister's friends say that they won't ever go there again because it's so big...?? i'm kind of freaked out about it because i've never been to a humungo venue (except for the gorge for warped and the only stupid people there were some simple plan fans. these 3 girls actually brought a simple plan poster they made with them. i'm 15 and theyre like in their late teens or early 20's. scary.) because i know there's going to be a lot of stupid people there. oh well, i'll wait and see....

I was at the Drive Thru show in Lancaster last night... The teeny bopper girls weren't as bad an I anticipated. You had your chicks with sparkly halter tops and skirts but they stayed mostly to the back.

I had issues with the dip shit boyfriends right in the center of the pit who tried to form a protective barrier around their girlfriends. If she can't take it in there, get the hell out and leave me alone.

The major problem was a bunch of beefy high school age guys with NFG shirts and giant heads that punched and kicked to every single starting line song. They would scream the lyrics before Kenny got to that part...assholes.

Other than that, I kinda liked the younger kids because I could easily see over their heads :)

hey i just want to make a point. Stop complaining about mtv and the little girls at shows! Bands going on tv is a good thing, going on a major label is a good thing too! Think about it, you get to be able to find bands music better on majors and my guess is in about 2 years that music on tv that we listen to will be awesome....think about it being able to watch ggood music on mtv! let it happen.

Haha, amen to that. Thats the only good part about little kids.

I really liked it when some little girls came down to the pit for TSL, and I'd been there the whole time and was sick of more and more little girls comming down. Me and my friend started moshing and crushed those girls. Got them to leave too!

I attended the Drive Thru show here in Cleveland 10-4, and I came to the following conclusions...

The Early November -- Never really was a fan of this band, until I saw them live...something about them says that they're not just another emo band, maybe it's in the songwriting they bring to the stage...Baby Blue" was really good live, as was "For All Of This"...a lot of energy, and definitely better than...

Senses Fail -- Wow. I honestly don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a band. SF is a band that sounds really good on a CD, but really let me down live. I think it may be due to Buddy's "over-dramatic" (to put it lightly) stage presence, as though he's only worried about playing the "I'm so fucked up in the head, listen to me scream about it and flail wildly on stage" part in the band...I've seen it done better (see Adam Lazzara or Geoff Rickly"...musically, talented as hell, but I think Buddy needs to focus more on his singing or writing than he does about how he appears on stage.

Allister -- Never fails to amaze me, these guys always come to the stage with a lot of energy, and know how to get the crowd moving...a good mix of old and new from the Allister boys, and for all of the little girls on the floor for them, I'm one of the guys who was windmilling you into the ground...

Home Grown -- In the same vein as Allister, got kids moving, and are really showing that they'll be one of those bands to break out of DTR the same way NFG did...expect big things for these guys...

Starting Line -- Very good show, guys...though nothing really stands out in my mind as "Wow, that was amazing", other than "Make Yourself At Home" acoustic live...good to see them play "I'm Real" as the encore, and great to hear the new songs, hope they make it onto the next album...a lot of girls on the floor for them, thank you MTV2.

All in all, yeah, a lot of girls and younger fans at the show, but I don't think it took anything away from the show...we come for the music, not for the fans. Much respect and admiration to the guy doing backflips during TSL's set...crazy stuff. Same goes for the Bushwhacker technique...Oh, and if you find yourself crowdsurfing at the DTR shows, please aim away from the "girl pits", they just drop you anyway.

yea i agree with everything you said i dont think people should be all that annoyed about what kids are at shows and not go just becauseof that and most of the really ditzy girls are in the back anyways so jsut get up front ;) people bitch about it too much. that said it IS really annoying when people are just talking about bands being hot , i dont know what basicaly any badns i like look like only if ive seen them live or vaguely from their cover if it has them.. . i mean its not bad if you think someone in a band is hot obviously but like you should be there for the music lol...haha but funny story.. kenny from starting line was standing by the shirt sales at like a stand and some girl comes over, totally doesnt notice the people gathered aound to talk to him, and shes with a tsl shirt and ill take this like she thinks hes a sales man and hes like ummm you buy them over there and she was muttering the whole way over ... haha that was jsut stupid ... sorry im being a

When teeny boppers and girls go into the pit they fall down anyways and learn their lessons and goto the back, if they have a chance to get out. It's also quite funny to see girls try and join circle pits and then get crushed, but other than that, if the girls are in the pit, screaming every word and moshing without being all giggly and shit like that, then it's not too bad.

who cares how many little girls are at the shows screaming at all the "hot band members". its inevitable. if you really love the music then none of those things would be a problem.

i am a 16 year old girl. I serisuoly have seen people like that before but i hell dont be like omg its kenny you just act casually there like regular people just they ahve a good voice and there attrative i hate those girls they dont even know if the person is nice or not.

i personally think kenny is ugly, i thought he was gay for the longest time. But ya, i agree you go to shows for the music not the fans and try to forget about all the teenyboppers...but sometimes you just cant take it and its like they ruin your concert expereince. I didnt go to the Drive Thru show (thank god..) i dont like pop-punk, but at the warped tour you could definitely tell girls who were there for bands like simple plan. And when they were in the pit for bands like rancid and watching rise against they were annoying as hell!!!

I have seen just as many guys fall as girls granted there are some annoying girls but just as many annoying guys who go in to try to be tough, and judging from your post you see a pit as a place to show your toughness and not to move and enjoy to the music. Dont fucking talk when you have a fucking fall out boy icon you pussy and your talking about the fucking drive thru invasion tour seriously never post ever again
#4 Not concerning this fuck whom i quoted above but to all the guys bitching and complaining about girls screaming :insert name here: is hott, yeah its just as annoying that guys scream i love you michele nolan every five fucking seconds and same with seeing tsunami bomb and murder by death...dont be a hypacrite Whoa, you took my post in the wrong way. Look at what I posted. I said that if the girls that are in there are having fun, not 12, not giggling, or crying about how they got kicked in the head by a crowd-surfer, then I could care less, they deserve to be in their as much as any guy ... and if you saw that in a different way, that's my fault. I didn't know that people could judge me in that way. I'm not sexist, at all, so don't even go there as a fucking excuse to bash me. Me? Trying to act tough? Oh god, that's funny. I'm not tough. At all. Yes, guys fall in the pit, I didn't say they didn't. But they do probably take it better than when a 12 year old goes in a gets crushed.

And yes, you've probably been to alot more shows than I have and in alot 'harder' pits. I won't argue with that at all, because it doesn't matter anyways ... when I goto a show I goto have fun, see the bands I love. Bottom line.

Yes, I have a Fall Out Boy avatar. May I ask, what the hell is wrong with Fall Out Boy? They're not punk enough for you? Or just because I like them means I'm a pussy and only like pop-punk because I saw Good Charlotte on Much Music? Is that what you think? Seriously, you could of thought of something better to say then insult what bands I like, because there's no way in hell that you know all the bands that I like if you are insulting me about liking Fall Out Boy.
