Um, negative. Gilbert is far more valuable, at this point and time, to the Wizards than Lebron is to the Cavs. I'm sure many will argue against this, but I think Arenas has more than proved he can win games in the final stretch and make things happen at the end of ball games when it matters so his team can pull out the win. James has proved the exact opposite; he is severely overrated.

haha. gilbert will never ever sniff the finals. any team with him on it will be lucky to even make the conference finals.
whereas, lebron basicallly just single handedly took his team to the finals.
to say gilbert's more valuable to the wizards than lebron is to the cavs is absolutely ridiculous. put lebron with two players like butler and jamison and they'll win a handful of titles in a row. take lebron off the cavs, they don't even go .500. fuck, put gilbert on the cavs and they don't even go .500.
and how's james proved the opposite of making things happen at the end of games? was it scoring 29 of his team's last 30 points in the fourth quarter and overtime in a critical game in the conference finals? or hitting two game winners against the wizards in last year's first round? or dominating the fourth quarter in the clinching game against the nets to get the cavs into the east finals? he takes over fourth quarters all the time. and a lot of times, he doesn't even have to score a lot to do so.

Yes, those were all remarkable and he deserves props for it, but there are also numerous occasions, especially this season, where he had the chance to win a game (usually via a buzzer beater) and he dropped the ball (figuratively) and made poor decisions.

i'm talking about tequilla, salt, ice and sweet & sour mix. its really good when you substitue sweet and sour w/ lime juice and add triple sec, but thats more expensive.

not everybody hits every attempt at a game winner. gilbert blew some end of game chances this season as well. lebron's just get blown way out of proportion. especially because if he passes to a wide open shooter instead of forcing up a shot through a triple team, people want to call that poor decision making.
i'm not knocking gilbert. i'd just rather take somebody who actually plays defense, keeps his mouth shut, rebounds, does an excellent job running the offense and can still put up 30 any given night. lebron does all that. the only thing i give arenas is that his jump shot is much better.

Well, as long as you respect who has the better jumpshot, haha. I see what you're saying, and don't get me wrong, I think Lebron is a very important player and is vital to his team, but before I'd start calling him truly great I think he needs to prove more, which will probably happen within the next year or two. I just get tired of hearing people call him the new MJ (who actually did win titles on his own and made the people around him better) when he hasn't really done jack.

oh, i hate hearing him compared to mj as well. his game really isn't anything like mj's.
all those comparisons do is make people expect lebron to drop 30-35 points every game, and that's not his game at all. he's just as effective scoring 22 and having 12 assists than somebody scoring 35 points with two assists.
if anything, his style is more magic johnson or oscar robertson. but, there's still quite a bit that has to happen before i'm ready to start comparing him to magic and the big o.

you seriously are by far the least intelligent person i've ever seen post. you say absolutely nothing of substance ever.
Im sure someone has said this already but hes not there yet. Didnt think he would get to the finals this soon and if had a little more help around him, Cleveland may had made it a series but hes not close to the Jordan point yet, may not ever be, and I dont think hes reached his own potential yet.
Hes one of the best players in the game right now but its a weak league, there needs to be more of a maturation process, a process I thought for a little bit came in game 5 but that was just a flash of things to come. It was also through an extremely soft, timid defense with an imcompedant coach. He was already smart enough to catch the Pistons in transition though. His ability to see the floor like that and exploit a defense so soon says a lot.
I don't think they would've swept the Pistons or a Wizards team with Arenas. Yes, they'd win it all, but I think those teams would've at least taken a game or two.
