yep, the new amazing Bad Religion album has leaked....let me say it is best since Stranger Than Fiction....better than the great albums Grey Race, Process of Belief, and The Empire Strikes First.

i like the songs i've heard so far. i'm going to wait until it's released before i listen to the rest. if it's better than the empire strikes first it's going to be a damn good record.

It's a very different sounding Bad Religion than The Empire Strikes First...

really? what BR record would you compare it to?

Hmm. Probably No Control/Generator with a bit of their mid 90's stuff, and a little Process of Belief. But a little different, hahaha. It's hard to say. Definitely not like Empire though. Still very good though.

Why tell people that an album had leaked, half of them will ont go and buy it now!

And you wonder why bands like these have low record sales!

I had an interesting conversation with an artist the other night about this and he stated to me that he could care less about the records since the money they received from the sales was so low. The real money for the artists is in the concerts and apparel sales. This artist, did however, make the interesting point that the only people really getting fucked by downloading are the labels. Not just the CEO's, but everyone that is employed in the process of making and distributing an album.

I was never a huge fan of them, but I'll give it a listen.

Certain parts of it remind me of No Control.

Good point, but I wasn't totally referring to the money made by record sales, the more records sold in shops etc, the higher the chart position, the greater the exposure, the more money record execs make, the more money record companies will put into pushing the next record, the greater the exposure again, the bigger the tours onthe next record, the more money for the band, and eveyone's happy!

just heard "scrutiny" and "requiem for dissent" on the radio. they sound awesome. i get the comparison to no control, very fast and melodic.

Wow, best since Stranger than Fiction? sweet.
Im gonna actually go out and buy the CD when its released, since I like having all the artwork/etc...plus the sound quality is better.

but Im really looking forward to getting it.

Good man, Josiah haha

suh-weet. I love that album.

whoa, easy there haha. Decom_poseur, I think, is just one of those people who belong to the thought that BR's later albums, from the 90s on up, arent any good.
personally, I love everything this bands ever done, with the exception of No Substance, and Into the Unknown.

oh, and your avatar is the shit. that's easily one of my favorite CDs ever,
plus TLA are prob. my favorite band.

hahaha okay let me re-phrase that.

TLA are my favorite band, while Tom Waits is my favorite solo artist.
the only reason I really put "probably" is cause Tom is another definate favorite of mine,
and I really couldnt decide between the two.

but I guess I found a way to resolve it haha.

PS
why arent you on AIM, loser? ;-)
Im having a pretty boring day today. no one's really talking haha.

edit - nevermind, youre offline now.
guess thats a valid excuse haha.

I know, Im just angry today. That dude can believe what he wants, I don't really care. And yes, it is common knowledge that Oh Calcutta is the greatest CD ever.

Your profile suggests one of two things:

You have either been listening to your "favourite bands" for about 12 months max and really know nothing about their catalogue; or your a fanboy that just loves everything with certain bands names on it.

It is possible to like Bad Religion and still think the new stuff is pretty shit.

hahaha... calm down buddy. Im just fucking around. I really have not liked much of their new stuff besides Live Again, Sorrow, and a few others. Also, I guess I have been listening to Sundowner for only a few months...

I will admit I am inclined to like something thats done by one of my favorite bands more often because I will give it more of a chance. Also, I have not liked many of the bands I like now for very long, I pretty recently started even listening to music again. I literally hated music from 6th grade to 8th grade because pop music was so shitty.

Also, I thought my last comment to you was an obvious joke. I'm mature enough to respect other peoples opinions on new Bad Religion songs...

Im not a big fan of album leaks. I definatley prefer owning a physical copy of a CD, espically if its by one of my favorite bands. But that's not to say I don't like downloading music, as I do my fair share of that as well.

Damn. I had no idea. I guess I wasn't hip with the whole bittorrent/albumbase scene back then, I didn't get it til the CD came out in stores.

I already preordered it on vinyl so I think I'll hold out until then. I'm still really excited to hear it and downloading it is really tempting.
