Even though they toured with Say Anything (ew), I've been loving Piebald lately. I only have 'We are the only friends that we have' album, but I really do like it.

Did these guys have any better albums in your guys' opinion?

I think they're pretty good, but i also only have 'we are the only friends that we have', so i can't say much, except that i think they're a pretty decent band.

American hearts is one of my favorites.

I saw them Friday with The Snake The Cross The Crown + mewithoutYou, I've been a fan for a really long time, and they pretty much blew me away.

Touring with Say Anything in no way reflects the quality of a band. Piebald isn't a "guilty pleasure."

For me, it is. It is, in a way, that pop punk I try to stray away from, but, I can't help but like the catchiness of all their stuff.

why is it a guilty pleasure?

Piebald is hardly a band I'd qualify as a guilty pleasure, they have no mainstream success and they're not painfully poppy or anything.

May be not for you, but for me, yes.

So, on to the question, please!

I only have 'we are the only friends...' too. It's their best record, though.

We Are the Only Friends We Have is the best, but a slightly more raw sounding record and a close second would have to be 'If It Weren't for Venetian Blinds, It'd Be Curtains for Us'. Check it out. The first song, "Grace Kelly With Wings" is amazing.

that's a goddamn shame. they, along with our hardcore/skramz scene, are why we can be proud to live in this otherwise boring area.

Agreed! Also, the second disc on the All Ages/ Barely Legal double cd is just as good as the Venitian Blinds stuff( plus it has a lot of bsides from that disc). Their new one is pretty good, it just doesn't have very good production/ quality. We Are The Only Friends We Have is definitely the best. Also, i'm going to go ahead and say that I can't see how Piebald is any sort of guilt pleasure, but to each their own.

Redwood City, CA: Comadre, Graf Orlock.

lack of numbers is forgiven by the sheer quality of these two bands.

Yeah, no skramz scene in sac, whatsoever man.

But holy shit, these boys in Texas do know how to skramz it up!

Too true.. Literally, there is nothing else good about new england.. Well, york beach, the cape, the bosox, and ben & jerry's are a few exceptions, lol

I really like the new one Accidental Gentleman. I love the raw lo-fi production style (and the more 'dirty rock' sound). People hated the production, but i think it suits them just fine. It should be pointed out that it's because they only record in analog. I fucking love that. Especially in an age where pretty much every band records digitally. A breath of fresh air
