The things is, Saw and Hostel etc all have a neat idea or theory behind their gore and violence.
"Captivity" is just really fucking shitty, with the violence serving absolutly no purpose whatsoever apart from to try and fit into an already overcrowded scene of 'gorenography' films.
It is really bad, I wanted it to end after 25 minutes.
It is a very, very stupid version of 'Saw', and the killers reason for murder is increadibly funny because it is so bad

I tend to stay away from movies that I *know* are gonna be terrible. Hence, I didn't go anywhere near crap like Epic Movie, Norbit, or Wild Hogs.
Spider-Man 3 has to be one of the worst movies of all time in regards to its budget (they couldn't have hired a decent screenwriter??), but there was no way it was worse than Ghost Rider. That movie was unconscionably bad. Shame on everyone involved.
Oh, and Babel? The movie that won an Oscar (and was nominated for six others)? That came out last year.

Norbit was just a simplistic and uncreative comedy film, but wasn't exactly that shitty. Ghost Rider, on the other hand, was worse than Hulk and only slightly better than Man-Thng.
And yeah, when you work at a videostore you begin to see how many people will buy in to shitty films. But for every person who rent Primevil, you get people who will rent Brick, Pan's Labyrinth, and Children of Men.

Do you people forget that these are movies based on comic books? Granted, the level of maturity of comics have improved in the past years, but when they first came out they were cheesy. Sure, in interviews with the directors you'll see people say "I loved the complexity and depth of the character," but every character started with cheese. Loads of cheese. And these movies, ESPECIALLY FF2, kept that element. Granted, Ghost Rider wasn't a top notch film, and changing Blackheart to Ricky Fitz wasn't the smartest move ever, Ghost Rider is far from the worst film of the year, and FF2 was great as far as keeping true to the comics go.
Spider-Man 3.

Well if you hated the movie, you'd hate the comics. But it's the fact that the movie kept to the comics that made them worthwhile, to me. They didn't try too hard to make it overly sophisticated. Hell, even the relaunch of F4 for the modern reader keeps that same level of cheesiness. It's my least favorite comic that I collect... but it's still good. And the movies are a good match to it.

Manos is only the worst movie if you take everything MST3K says as canon to life. I thought Manos was funny. I didn't think Gigli was funny.

Affleck was decent in Mallrats.
But the worst movie I've seen this year, probably The Invisible. I went into it angry because Spidey 3 (which doesn't deserve the hate it's getting, take out the Emo Parker bullshit and it would probably be the best of the series) was sold out and that was the only other thing I thought would be good. 2007, the movie
In terms of disappointment from the hype and the previous track record, Spider-Man 3.
In terms of flat out worst film, Epic Movie.
