Everytime I hear a piano ballad, I think of my younger brother. He's a brilliant pianist and plays in a piano band of sorts. Our relationship has never been great.
I can see you now, alone and asleep.
Under the window, tucked in tight.
You'll breathe through your eyes
and God will fly you high.
'Cause tonight, he's on your side,
and when I say fuck, you'll say sin.
I wish we could love tonight,
I wish we had a chance, to find better days.
Some days, I wonder if you are everything I could not be.
As if everything, everything is forgiven now.
You'll quietly play your piano, and the world listens.
We are so far, from spectrum to spectrum.
I'm the olive tree, but your the maple in the yard.
Your life is a disciplined design, just growing high.
Someday, I'll cry on your shoulder,
while you raise another piano anthem, fingers dancing by.
