Any values to you?

Lots.

It's been awhile since I actually bought cards, but I still try to collect. I have so many cards. I wanna sort em all out one day. I keep the really good ones separate.

The market seemed to bottom out for sports cards in general. Atleast around here all the card shops started charging 12 dollars a pack for 10 card which usually held 4 cheap, ugly, inserts and 3 duplicates. I stopped collecting about 5 years ago but maybe if I come across a little extra money I'll buy a box set of Topps.

I do have a Jeter '92 high school draft pick card, a Griffey, Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez rookie cards too, probably a few more worth something. Not sure I should look through them soon.

Just rememberd I bought a couple Verlander rookie cards last year.

Ya I was big into baseball/basketball cards about 5-7 years ago. I haven't bought a pack in probably 2-3 years and like bauer said the market is not like it used to be. I'm still going to hold on to my cards and hopefully they'll be worth a lot in the future.

The market is so bad right now. I haven't bought a pack in a year or two but I buy some good singles.

My uncle bought me the tops box set in 1989, 1990, and 1991, and ever since then I've been collecting the box sets. I have every year since 1989, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon.

is that good?

The only ones of matter to me, off the top of my head:

1986 Barry Bonds Rookie/1987 Barry Bonds rookie (Topps and Fleer)
1970 Tom Seaver
1989 Ken Griffey, Jr. rookie
1985 Mark McGwire rookie (Topps, he's wearing his Team USA uniform)
1960 Louis Aparicio
1985 Roger Clemens (second year)
1993 Derek Jeter rookie (Upper Deck, I want the SP279 one so bad..it's worth like 60 bucks)
1991 Mike Mussina rookie
1909 Honus Wagner REPLICA (haha it's only a replica, so it's like worth five bucks)
1990 Pavel Bure rookie
1990 Pavel Bure rookie (Russian)
1990 Eric Lindros rookie
1990 Mike Modano rookie
1980 Wayne Gretzky (second year)
1986 Paul O'Neill rookie (Fleer, prospect card)
1990 Jaromir Jagr rookie
1990 Petr Nedved rookie
1990 NHL Draft Class first edition (Owen Nolan, Petr Nedved, Keith Primeau, Mike Ricci, and Jaromir Jagr)
I bought a box set of replica rookie cards and it had in it replicas of: Honus Wagner, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial, Ted Williams, and others. Great set.

and of course the most prized card of ANY collection..

1994 Michael Jordan rookie (Chicago White Sox)

I'm mostly a baseball/hockey guy, I rarely collect any other sport. Most rookie cards depend on condition and company. Some companies make rarer versions. For example, a Topps 86 Bonds is worth probably $200 more than a Fleer 86 or 87, and a glossy version is worth probably a thousand bucks more haha

I don't have a book with me so I don't know about the Shaq.

1981 Topps Art Monk RC
1986 Donruss Barry Bonds XRC
1986 Topps Traded Bo Jackson RC (Baseball)

Nice card. I'm not a fan of those plastic screw cases. The card has a little bit of room to move, so I feel like it couldn't get nicked up a bit inside of it. I prefer a plastic sleeve inside of a hard case.

in that case, you should probably just auction it off. a genuine part of Joey could go for tens of dollars if he's such a favorite around here.

I stopped collecting around 2000-01, but just recently starting logging all my stuff on Beckett to see what it is worth. A lot of it has gone down sadly, but a lot has gone up too which really was always the case. I was shocked to see my 85 Topps McGwire go from like $200 a few years ago to only $30 NM-MT.

It's been fun being away for so long and going back to look and see what everything is worth. One of the last few things I bought was 2000 or 2001 Upper Deck. I forget which year, but I got an Albert Pujols rookie in there. It was probably $1.00 - $5.00 back then and now it is booked at $80.00

I never realized I had the card until a few weeks ago. It was just something at the time I didn't think anything of because he was not popular then.

I still have a lot to go through, but some standouts I have are:

1982 Donruss Ryne Sandberg
1983 Topps Tony Gwynn
1985 Topps Roger Clemens
1986 Donruss Barry Bonds
1987 Donruss Greg Maddux
1989 Donruss/Fleer/Topps Traded Ken Griffey Jr.
1992 Bowman Mike Piazza/Manny Ramirez
1993 Bowman/Upper Deck Derek Jeter
1994 Upper Deck A-rod
1997 Bowman Lance Berkman
1999 Bowman/Bowman Chrome Alfonso Soriano
1998 Topps Frank Robinson autographed card (Probably the most surprising pull I ever had from a pack)

A ton more and I know some of my years may be wrong, but they are all rookie cards except for Frank Robinson.

i have little to no hope of this card ever breaking the $75 mark. i'll always see big mac as a steroid user. i think most collectors feel that way too after he refused to answer questions at that congressional hearing a couple years back.

i quit buying them. the market got so overflooded with them, that they're hardly worth anything anymore. definitely not worth the 4 bucks per pack. i remember when a game used bat card was worth upwards of 75.00, now they're worth about 5.00. ridiculous. i still collect memorabilia though such as signed balls, bats, etc.

No more Donruss, Pinnacle, Fleer, Leaf, or Skybox or anything else. Everything's getting bought out by Upper Deck. Hell they even tried to buy out Topps to make it a monopoly. If anything there needs to be more brands.

I restarted about a month ago, and it is super addicting. I'm finding quickly that the hobby mostly turned into people just flipping everything for profit constantly. Not to mention everything is really expensive now. I'm trying to stick to the stuff you can buy at Target, etc. but if you want the nice autos/relics you have to really spend a lot at a hobby shop.
