Just saw the dashboard show tonight at the Electric factory. IT was pretty good. I'm not sure why, but Brand New only played for a little over a half an hour. They played an amazing set list. Unfortunately their monitor tech was having some problems with feedback and the show definetely suffered a bit from the endless screaming feedback in the wedges up front.

They said they'd be back soon on a headlining tour and that they'd play for "hours" then. Can't wait.

Next up was MXPX, who, in my fanboy opinion, is a watered down version of Blink. I know i know, mxpx have been around a long time and yada yada yada, but they just dont do it for me for some reason.

Dashboad came on and lived up to my expecations. To quote a certain site administrator they were "simply AMAZING". Played songs old and new, and played them well. Accoustic and with the band so audience got a taste of both of DC's formats. DC had much better sound and production quality than mxpx and BN, cant wait to hear BN with an accomplised front of house mixer.

And i'm not sure, but i think Remedy session played, unfortunately i must have missed them.

The e-factory is a great place to see concerts. go there.

Do you remember any of the songs that the bands played? I kind of want to know what they play- the dashboard/mxpx/brand new show here is in 30 days!

remedy session played a short set while most people were still on their way in

brand new played:
okay i believe you but my tommy gun don't
sic transit gloria (the one with the sick bass)
the quiet things that no one ever knows
jaws theme swimming
jude law and the semester abroad
seventy times seven (as usual)

overall, it was pretty good but a little disappointing considering i saw them headlining in a small venue in seattle this summer.

mxpx opened with responsibility and ended with punk rawk show. they played chick magnet and i think they played i'm ok, you're ok. not sure about the rest.

dashboard played for almost two hours. off the top of my head, they played hands down, rapid hope loss, as lovers go, ghost of a good thing, hey girl, brilliant dance, screaming infidelities, bitter pill. don't remember the rest

after chants for "one more song" he started playing the intro to a brand new song before playing some other song i never heard of.

I'm going to catch the show on Tuesday at the Houston show (anyone going to that?)...I really couldn't care less about Dashboard but I'm looking forward to seeing mxpx and Vendetta Red. That sucks that Brand New has such a short set. I really only bought the tickets for them in the first place. and the tickets are ridiculously expensive here... but they are playing in a bigger venue and i'm cheap...so eh...still should be a good show though.

I think that they're the best band I've seen live. I like audience participation, and there's plenty of that :) I can't help it, I'm a Dashboard fanatic. Vendetta Red isn't playing here because they're starting some other tour, so we get Piebald, but that's okay. My friends and I met VR at the Warped Tour, and they acted like complete rockstar assholes. I'm sorry to anyone who likes them, but I've lost complete respect for them. I'm sorry, just because you get play on MTV doesn't mean you have to forget your fanbase, because your fanbase can turn on you in a split second.

yea about the whole vendetta red thing......i personally dont like their music, but a couple days ago i read on absolutepunk's news that the lead singer insulted someone with a tbs shirt on, and he insulted brand new's deja intendu(i think thats how u spell it)...and man what a loser....how can he insult two of the greatest bands on this earth like that. he needs to be taught a lesson.....his music sucks ass too

One of my friends said he looks like Jimmy Page, but I told him not to insult one of the greatest guitarists of all time like that. I'm just glad that VR are not playing the dashboard shows here, or else I would chuck my empty beer bottles at them.
