(Superhero) One Last Chance To Save The World

Dressed fashionably in a false pretense
A mere show without any reality
This outward appearance, mistake identity
Affectation of something you could possibly never see (appreciate)

This jacket of ordinary
I rip from off my back
Still just another face among the masses
With each bumping shoulder
No one seems to care too much
About the one that walks among them

If I could loosen the grip from around their necks
Or pull them out
From the sea of their selfishness in which they're about to drown
Would I still want to be this hero?

Storybook endings, movie scene endings
Is all a dream
I just want to take my generic ability
Because is there even one worth saving?

I want to be (see) what I believe
But would rather put on this display
And appear to bathe in all this false glory
Where I'll still have me
And that's all I really need

does that even make any sense when put together? In the first one you talk about being a loner in the crowd, unseen, ignored, discreet, thats what it sounds like but then you go into this thing about them being in a state of mind where they are going to indulge into something which will lead to selfshiness?

This song dosent run together very well at all

I see it as him being the outcast who then "rips off" what makes him the outsider to then he joins the side to save those who have fallen into the masses " loosen the grip...or pull them out" from the huge array of space they have created " the sea" always thinking of them self and not noticing people like him, but then he reconsiders "would i still want to be this hero" my guess b/c he lieks being unoticed...adn if he saved them all they would all be like him....just anotehr mass of him
