OK so i finished High School and im going to college in Aug. So the thing about it is that on one hand im ready to go to college meet new people, new atmosphere, a change and change is good and im all for it i cant waite, but on the other hand i dont wont to leave certin people cause ill miss them to much an will think about them alot. But one of my main concerins is that the line of comunication wont stay open and ill lose them forever or they will for get about me and iv had that happen in the past and it not a good feeling. And on top of that i have really strong feelings for some of the people im leaving behind and some dont know how i feel about them. Right now i have mixed fillings about the whole cituation an i really need some input from some one who is looking from the outside in. All i know is that i am going to college but i dont wont to lose anyone in the processes. THIS IS SERIOUS PLEASE HELP !!!

The fact is 95% of these people you think you care about so much...
You won't even remember in a few years until out of nowhere something reminds you of someone and you go "oh hey, I wonder what is going on with *insert person here*" and realize you haven't even thought about them in a long time.
That is life though. People grow up, realize that most of their "BEST FRIENDS FOREVER" were just people they barely connected with in any real way anyway and only hung out with because they were the least lame people at their high school.

you'll meet some many new people at school and become really close to them so fast. and if those friends from home forget about you then they're not really good friends.

It takes some time to adjust, but after a while school just starts to feel like home.
Plus, your home for about a month over winter, and 4 months for summer, plus, random breaks if you live close enough to home. So, it's really not such a big deal.

Good luck meating new people.
Good luck meating new people.
I just seriously laughed at that. Haha "Meating."
Um, yeah, so leaving home doesn't really suck as much as you think. It's actually awesome to a point. I'm a people-person so maybe that explains it, but you will have a lot more fun and probably meet even better people (no offense to the friends you already had). Just take it all in. It's fun.
In the end, you probably will lose contact with friends back home, but if you do, that just goes to show you that they weren't that great of friends. Good luck!! :-)

You don't have to. Just don't give up trying to constantly keep in contact, and if they don't attempt keeping in touch with you as well, then they aren't good friends.
Personally, I'm psyched for college. Meeting new people sounds really fun.

Well, if they are true friends, you probably won't lose them. Just keep in touch.
I'm having a problem with the communication deal, like myantiyou was talking about (both friends making attempts to keep in touch). I've known one of my best friends since I was in second grade, but now that I've moved (she's a couple years younger), contacting her is practically impossible. She's always got some amazing excuse as to why she can't talk or text back or whatever; trying to set up a day to hang out isn't even a tangible idea... Pisses me off. I've basically given up on her. So beware! It could happen, but if they are that amazing of friends, then you all should be fine. :-)

When switched from Middle School to Highschool my apparent "best friends" (and myself) we all moved onto find new friends and start new cliques. I'm sure this is how it goes after High School, except the change is permanent.

All you can do now is go to college and meet new people. If these are your real friends then you will stay in touch. Just enjoy the remainings moments you have together and when you go to college don't linger on the past because then you will never move forward.

Before I went off to college I was worried about this too and my Dad told me that the friends that I had in HS weren't going to be my best friends anymore and that the friends that I would keep for the rest of my life would be the ones that I met in college. Being the loyal friend that I am, I refused to believe him. 4+ years of being out of HS, I keep in contact with a certain few that will always be some of my best friends, but the weekend/party friends, I have no idea what they're doing and sure it's nice to hear from them, but our conversations are different than those that I have with my current friends. You'll find that you relate more and better to those that you go to college with than those that you went to HS with.
The best thing about Freshman year of college is that everybody is the "new kid" there. Sure there will be the cliques and some of the bullshit that you dealt with in HS, but in college it's there for a reason, to find people with the same interests and background as yourself, and most importantly, future goals, not just a social standing.
Good luck meating new people.
haha, i loved that.

Before you go to College, you should learn to spell.
