Since 98% of the people in the Music forum wouldn't dare to venture into the General forum, what are your thoughts on this album? The review that came out summed it nicely on how it has an extremely weak second half to the album. Other than that, tell me what you think of it.

Also, favourite tracks, weakest tracks, compared to the ep, etc.
Go.

My most anticipated album of the year. Ultimatly, it fell short. It's not bad, at all, there are a slew of really great tracks, but, the end fizzles out a little bit.

I like the ep alot. I often listen to it as I lay in bed and drift away into a deep sleep. Should I get the full length?

They have an awful name. Do they play the kind of music their name suggests they would play?
their singer ryan told me the story behind their name (can't remember it exactly right now). they went by a previous name before, that pretty much translated into envy on the coast so they changed it.
it's pop-punk, and you dont seem to be much of a fan of that, so i would guess you wouldn't like it.

I like about half of the album really. Sugar Skulls, The Gift Of Paralysis, Vultures, Mirrors, If God Smokes Cheap Cigars (which is probably my favourite off the album) and Starving Your Friends. That's the only slow one I like, I do have to say that the slower ones don't really suit them. I'd not really listened to the EP though, so I like this album.

I don't see anything wrong with the 2nd half of the album. I think the slow songs are great. I think this album as a whole is really great. The lyrics are pretty good and well written. I expect big things from these guys.
it's pop-punk
I wouldn't say that. I'd say they sound like a mix between Incubus, The Fall of Troy, and Pierce the Veil (with more pop).

i find the album to flow at times but at others two be way to schizophrenic. All in all it is a solid DEBUT album and the band shows a lot of promise in songs like vultures, gift, and god. But a lot is left on the table. I saw them at warped tour and the drumming was amazing, i really like his work. all in all.............should be nice to see this band grow.
I'm checking these guys out for the first time right now. I'm up to 'Vultures' right now. I'm liking this song and the album so far is pretty decent. Nothing groundbreaking here, but good stuff nonetheless.

So true.
I liked them before this...but I'm pretty disappointed.

I've met the lead singer of this band two years ago at Warped, he was one of the biggest assholes I've met. Since then, I refuse to listen to his music.

Bert McCracken was an asshole to me and the Used remains one of my favorite bands.
