Anyone else ridiculously excited? Comes out November 30th. I may be biased because I am a HUGE Woody Allen fan, but this could be a great movie, based on the cast and (of course) the writer/director.

And Philip Glass did the music. If you don't know who he is, he did the music for movies such as Kundun, The Hours and Notes On A Scandal, all of which got him Oscar nominations.

I know most people didn't like it, but I really did. Though I may be biased because I am a HUGE Woody fan. Which is weird, considering i've only seen:
Sleeper
Love And Death
Annie Hall
Manhattan
Crimes And Misdemeanors
Husbands And Wives
Bullets Over Broadway
Mighty Aphrodite
Deconstructing Harry
Anything Else
Melinda And Melinda
Match Point
Scoop
...huh. I guess that is a lot.

i haven't seen too many either; ive only seen manhattan, annie hall, match point, melinda^2, and scoop. but i found scoop utterly hilarious. one of the times when i could have died laughing at the theatre. is Cassandra's dream supposed to be humorous as well?

No its more in the vein of Match Point.
Only Woody Allen film I've seen is Match Point, which is one of my favorite films.

At first I thought you said "I don't know who he is" and I was going to flip out, but I re-read it.

I'd watch this
Crimes And Misdemeanors
Annie Hall
Hannah And Her Sisters
Bullets over Broadway
Husbands and Wives
Radio Days
Manhattan
Love And Death
Sleeper
Deconstructing Harry
Stardust Memories
That's how I rank the ones I've seen

I agree Crimes And Misdemeanors is SLIGHTLY above Annie Hall and Manhattan for me. However, i've yet to see Hannah And Her Sisters.

Oh no, it's Love And Death. Duh. I should've know that. Very entertaining early Woody film.

The title made me think of the Ludlum book The Cassandra Compact for a second and I thought they were making a film and I was so stoked, that's his best book. Damn!

Does anyone feel like Woody is just exploring genres or plot concepts just to try new things? Granted I've only seen seven or eight of his films so I could be way off, but I feel like Match Point and now this are exercises in new modes for Woody, things that he wants to attempt before he calls it quits. These films don't really seem to fit in with the filmmaker he has established himself as.
Anyone?

i can see that, and i really have no problem with it; he's 72, created some of the best films of the last 30 years, let him do whatever he wants.

Yeah, same here.
Let him do whatever he wants to do. Generally ends up good.
