When I took civics it was mostly just a class in how great our government is and how we are supirior to all other nations.

i agree that focusing on math and other subjects that are on standardized tests only hurts when it comes to learning subjects that aren't on that test. like they said, if its not on the test, it isn't taught. I wish there was a history section on the SAT's. Why is it that someone has deemed Geometry and Calculus so important that everyone must be tested on it, when in reality, only a select few will ever use anything higher than algebra after high school? I will almost certainly never use 90% of the math i needed to learn for the SAT's, i haven't yet, except in college, where they required me to take these upper level math courses, and for what? i'll never use it, and even if i needed to, i don't remember how to do it anymore.
