View Full Version : Your favorite unsigned bands?????

Yes - I know this thread has probably been done before. But the fact is that lots of industry people read this site and maybe if we talk about them enough - the right person might just read it - and sign someone we love.
For example - why the heck do neither Panima nor Eudora have amazing label deals? Just because they are in the somewhat oversaturated So Cal market? Somebody could get really lucky by signing these guys.
If every A&R rep in the world reads this right now - who would you like to see get a label deal?

thrice signed to vagrant so i have no clue. don't really listen to unsigned bands... there's really no point, in my opinion.
hawthorne heights is the only unsigned band i even remotely "like", so yeah... dont know, dont care.

seriously, broaden your horizons. there are a LOT of unsigned bands that have production almost as good as major label stuff.

it's one thing to not go looking for unsigned bands, but to actively not listen to them is another. you're basically admitting to enjoy hopping on the bandwagon and will only give a band credit because they get a deal. every band that has a deal does start off unsigned you know. it just makes the music that much more enjoyable when you can enjoy it in an intimate setting before anyone else does.

i live in knoxville. we have no scene. thus, no unsigned bands.

the only unsigned non-touring band i listen to are:
the glass ocean (saw on tour with underoath)
and
the roxbury secret (danny schme introduced me to them)
and yes, i know they all start off unsigned. but i dont listen to any music where there is no way ill ever see them live, it's just how i react to it (ie, unsigned in cali not travelling to tenn, thus, why bother?). It's also why I don't listen to older bands who've broken up, et cetera, unless I liked them when they were still together.

man, i live in a fucking chav town. the only scene we have here is shite indie bands that are ten a penny and shite at best anyway.
if i went by that logic i would hardly listen to any bands. i see how you feel it does suck that you can't a lot of bands live, i hate that. but i still listen to them, i don't see why not.

yeah, they're unsigned by choice. they've had plenty of major label offers and turned them down. so probably a bad choice to pick them... haha

Tysen from Seattle. Someone already mentioned them. I just happened to find them one day while browsing myspace, and immediately liked their stuff. They deserve to get signed. "Time Flies" is probably my favorite song they have out now.

Out of all the IMs and e-mails I get from bands, I cannot find one band that I whole-heartedly love the instant I hear them like I have when I found out Best of Winter/JACK turned into The Graduate and listened to their myspace.

Round Three Fight! from the bay area in CA. Great great great band. You might call them pop punk. But what is a genre anymore really???
I dont know if they qualify anymore as they just got signed to an Indie label in Japan but they are still unsigned in the states so I guess they fit the bill.
Anyway, check them out....
