What's everyone think of the trailer? It seems worth checking out.
It comes out on the 31st.
I think Rob Zombie will do great things with it.

I think he should delay the release of this till October. Seems fitting.

I bet it will be great. Early reviews say it is decent. He's a huge fan so he will hopefully be faithful to the original but add his gritty cinematography to it.

I'm gonna see it, just because I love the original and I'm trusting Rob Zombie won't fuck this up.

I just don't get why it had to be made.
Next someone will want to re-do the shitty original Friday The 13th

:rotfl:
I'm excited for this though. I just wish he did a sequel rather than a remake considering the last sequel was a disgrace to the series (Resurrection).

Yeah Resurrection was awful, I thought H20 was pretty damn good, though. Probably the best since 2.

Yeah, I really liked H20. Resurrection was completely worthless but I thought the very beginning (Up into Laurie was killed) of it was alright though.

Fuck you Michael Bay, you made your unoriginal movie for the year (Transformers). Go make something you came up with all on your own instead of coping other peoples creations.

I really don't want him or anyone coming near to remaking my favorite horror series in all honesty. Not only should Zombie not be remaking Halloween but no one should remake the campy awesome Friday the 13 movies..except Jason X, i pretend that one doesn't exist.

i don't understand the point in remakes. and that stands true most of the time.
i like rob zombie, and i love the halloween movies for the most part (the first 2 for sure) and i think he can do something good with it. the beauty of friday the 13th was that is was cheesy, why remake it with CG effects and call it better?

I sure as hell wont be paying to see the new Halloween and i deff wont be paying to see a Michael Bay Friday the 13th because like you said, the movie doesnt need CG and flashy looks because the original series didnt have them and that made em awesome.

oh no way would i ever put any money into a remake of friday the 13th. fuck that. i wouldn't even netflix that garbage.

Hahaha, that's going to fucking SUCK. Even if it didn't have Michael Bay's name attached to it as the producer, you'd still have Jonathan Liebesman horrible filmography to keep in mind.

Rob Zombie's talent alone will make this (at WORST) the third or fourth best in the series, after the original, II and H20.

I think it will be good, but it will lack the key elements that the original thrived on (atmosphere, tension, slow building suspense), I don't want an in-depth backstory on Myers, at the same time it does look gritty and it might stil retain some of the atmosphere as the original I'm hoping.
If anything, we get to see Danielle Harris' bewbies!

I'll agree on H2O, but I think we are in the minority. H2 was a slasher film that kept the same look/feel as the original.

I thought this came out on OCTOBER 31st... which would have been pretty cool, i was sitting on my couch thinking that i would have something neat to do on halloween this year, but seconds later i saw a commercial saying it's coming out on AUGUST 31st. I dont even think i'll see it now.

Unless the original versions of the script got rewritten, he had the guy masturbating to pictures of dead animals....which means he's already fucked up the series if that happens

last year, for the 20th anniversary of the original, they brought it back to select theaters on October 31st. it was pretty cool and the theater was packed with hardcore fans.

why thank you, best movie ever.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he did with it. I think remaking it as close to the original is a stupid idea (Psycho remake, anyone?), so if Rob wants to put more backstory on Michael then so be it. Hopefully the horror will be top notch too. I can't say there's much competition for it at the moment, especially after seeing the shitfest Saw 4 teaser clip.

Some of you are weak, did someone seriously just hate on Nicolas Cage in this thread?
