Here's a short poem i wrote, please read and comment
“What We Thought We Knew”
The sky turns shades of pink as the sunlight slowly fades
Blurring the difference between today and yesterday
She’s making wishes on streetlights
He’s sleeping under the headlights
And the comforts they wish for will be gone with the coming of morning
These bright stars blanket their desires and longing
Don’t look at me that way
It’s only a matter of time before we fade out completely
A million lucky pennies and shooting stars couldn’t make this moment more complete
So hold me close while we still have air left to breathe
What do you see when you look out your dusty windows?
A million shattered pieces
Remnants of unfulfilled dreams
Lives wasted by wishing , by waiting
No second thoughts about what this life really means
Don’t look at me that way
It’s only a matter of time before we fade out completely
