I wasn't even really excited for this concert to tell you the truth minus I'd get to see 45minutes of the band I went for. SoCo. I don't really care if they're punk/pop/whatever you want to call them, I really enjoy soco, and I wasn't gonna miss a show of theirs in WI. So of course you have your typical pop punk show scene thousands of little screaming 12 year olds complaining because you push them back to see 2 decent bands and try to explain that you'll leave the pit so they can be next to their favorite pop stars later. On w/the review.
Saving Face: 8/10 Great performance. Played about 30 minutes and did a very good job. I've never really known anything about them but they're a great band and played an energetic show, and the guy is an amazing guitarist.
SoCo: 7/10. I've seen better shows but maybe it's because I was in a room w/people that didn't know who SoCo was. It really ticked me off. Especially when they played Konstantine, Andrew explained it was a long song and some people might get mad but he didn't care because he didn't want to piss off the real fans. Yeah there were about 10 people that knew the words including myself which was sad. The knew songs sounded cool.
GC: 8/10 This is where u expect me to be like oh man GC sucked played all their poppy knew songs, blah blah blah. That's what I expected. Well I've seen GC 5 including last night. 3 times b4 the new cd once when they were openers so I'm and old school 1st cd fan. Really like that cd its just fun punk rock. Well last night they played more older songs then new ones. They played nearly the entire 1st cd and only about half of the new cd. AND they played 2 Acoustic songs just benji and joel and man I love acoustic so much. This show gave me some more respect and hope that the new cd will be more punk them pop. why should they waste talent like that. It was just nice to see them go back to their roots, back to when they played good shows and good music.
Intermission b4 GC: Brian (drummer from SoCo) was walking around, nobody really knew who he was, but he was asking people how they liked the show and stuff. Well he talked to us for like 5minutes and he acted like he knew us for years. Very cool. He explained why he had head phones on and it was soemthing new he was trying. the phones got the little click I can't remember what they're called. Told us not many drummers like playing to a click but he really really liked it and caught on fast. He's one of those guys that doesn't let success go to his head he was very kickass.
Well now I've had my pop punk fill, I can't wait for Saves The day and TBS 10/3 in Milwaukee, Early november and TSL on 10/10 in Mil and Rufio no 10/17 WOOHOO concerts rock! GO SEE A SHOW!
