Yes, the brand new post inspired me for this! Mine isn't that old:

"the hardest part isn't finding out who we need to be, it's being content with who we are"- Kris Roe, the hero dies in this one.

the other favorites are in my sig..many from brand new. Well, it was true, that whole album was one big quote!

Well, I went to read your signature quotes.

And that reminded me, because of the Brand New quote...where he says "and ive seen what happens to the wicked and proud when they decide to try to take on the thrown for the crown."

And, don't blame me for this turning into another brand new thread. And this has probably already been discussed. But I was watchind Dogma, and Matt Damon says "Ive seen what happens to the proud when they decide to try to take on the thrown" or..maybe it was the crown.

...and thats my story. Which had no point.

there are tons...I mean a lot...

obviously there is that Taking Back Sunday one that everyone loves "If you could slit my throat, with my one as gasping breath I'd apologize for bleedin' on your shirt"

and a bunch more..but as of right now..it would be...

"I fall asleep tonight, cuz' that brings me closer to you...' by Matchbook Romance. because "Promise" is just a fucking rocking song and I said that to the girl I liked before she signed off once..

Wind strong in my face, I'm still staggering through
I'm closer to the ground than I will ever get to you
Dirt deep beneath my fingernails, I'm gripping to the floor
Searching through the world, always looking for something more
~hidden in plain view

ive just always liked that line. no doubt about it

you gotta love Kris Roe man, his lyrics, even though simplistic at best, he always manages to pull a couple incredible and meaningful lines out of his brain. And they just leave you completely floored...because the thiings he writes are SO obvious...but at the same time you never ever really thought about it! its beauty.

"we tried to bleed the sickness, but we drained our hearts instead, we are the dead"

"isnt it sweet, how we're trusted with angels, and how so quickly i break i promises? Isnt it sweet?"

"and she calls from the doorway
'stolen water is sweet so lets drink it in the darkness if you know what i mean'
and im almost sure that ive been here before
this is not the first time ive stood infront of this door
with an overwhelming feeling that i shouldnt go in
but this seems to be a battle i never can win"

"draw this darkness out like poison
Stab retrieve again decline
Help me drop the dagger deeper
trace with me explicit lines
take this blade
a test of faith and strike me deep and true
i put all my trust in you"

i have to agree with some ppl that the taking back sunday lyric.."you could slit my throat and with my one last gasping breath id appologize for bleeding on your shirt" and i also agree that deja entendu is just an amazing cd which has too many lyrics that make you think... any lyric is good everyone can heare a lyric and think of it meaning something different...

it's some quotes from Streetlight Manifesto's new CD "Everything Goes Numb".....those aren't even all the best quotes, it's just the ones I felt like putting on there.

"She was lying on the sidewalk, a black rose clutched in her lifeless hand, her memories shattered from where the hammer met her forehead. There will be no happy ending, the rain washes away the sound of her life, of her love, she was lying on the sidewalk, a black rose clutched in her lifeless hand, just another reminder that love lies bleeding."

"as a new night falls, Ill break into your room. Pour sand in your eyes, dreams give you new wounds. And Ill stand back, from where you lay, and watch your heartbreak, from far away."

Those are lyrics Ive written for my band, and theyre my favorite ones that Ive ever written. Ill be sure to tell you where you can get mp3's as soon as theyre up. Leave it to me to use this thread for shameless self promotion!

"i drug your ghost across the country
and we plotted out my death
in every city, memories would whisper,
'here is where you rest.'" - the calendar hung itself

"the desperate are water
they will run down forever and soak into silence to
just end up together in some dark and distant place
so don't leave me here with only mirrors watching me
this house it holds nothing but the memories.." - arienette

"fuck my face. fuck my name.
they are brief and false advertisements for a soul i don't have.
something true i have lacked and spent my whole life trying to make up for
but i found in a song and in the people i love
they will lift me up out of darkness
now my door stands open
i am inviting everyone in
we will drink
we will laugh until the morning comes
that is what we are going to do." - false advertising

as you can see... i'm a huge bright eyes fan. conor is the man.

great idea...there is not one weak song on the entire cd. they have a song on mp3.com, its awesome, but not indicative of the whole cd. its hard to explain. every song is really really good, but they all have a sound thats different than the other ones. theyre all amazing.

and all our sins come back to haunt us in the end
to hang around and tap us on the shoulder
and smile
silent
it's all implied
"you'll die trying to live this down. you might as well forget it."
still, i'm convinced that wondering what if is the worst thing there is
so we bottled and shelved all our regrets
let them ferment and came back to our senses
drove back home and slept a few days
woke up and laughed at how stupid we used to be
all these lines fall short of what i had in mind
a failed attempt to capsulize a feeling
so i just try fail and try and try again
someday i swear i'm going to get it
because i'm convinced that giving in is the worst thing there is
we'll get over it
sad, strong, safe and sober
we'll move forward
and know where we went wrong
but "you can't go home again."
-straylight run

and then, you have to have the brand new.

"If looks could really kill,
then my profession would staring."
-brand new

then theres taking back sunday and thrice and thursday and further seems forever. too many to name. but those are among the top.

school life is a woken dream - blink

crashed your car through my front door, told me that you missed me, but you meant with the grill and hood, youd kill me if you could - alk3

theres nothing quite like being sure of whats inside your heart- mxpx

last night i dreamt you called - saves the day

i dont think that you know what youve been missin.. just forget me its that simple - tbs

my closest friend linoleum - nofx

Yes, I totally agree!!!! Like the Ataris songs are the most relateable to me if I have gone through something or AM going through something there is probably an Ataris song about it...
