I didn't even notice this album was coming out until a few days ago. I figured I would be disappointed because metalcore these days is beyond stale, but as it turns out, this is one of the most solid heavy releases I have come into contact with this year. The breakdown chuga chug is mostly absent, the songs are more dynamic, varied, and the clean vocals are way less cheesy. I am a fan of As I lay Dying in general, yeah, but they really surprised me by putting out a record like this. Thoughts?

Haven't heard yet, I saw it and thought the cover looked amazing but yeah, haven't listened yet. Probably will, soon, though.

I've listened to it a couple times and I like it so far.

Saw them play some new stuff at warped. It sounds great live. Within Destruction sounds like old school metallica. It has a huge thrash metal vibe. I dig it. Highly recommend picking it up.

I've heard Within Destruction. It's solid. They said they wanted to try something different and reinvent the genre so I'll have to check it out myself. The cover is sick indeed. They were great at Warped.

...the clean vocals are way less cheesy.

The Kings To You fanboy in me refuses to believe any As I Lay Dying clean vocals could beat Dave Arthur's.

i bet no one on this site knows who kings to you is. why don't they just go with the next label that comes their way? i mean, i'm sure plenty of labels want them. they're not quick and the dead, which has no decency at all.

Alas, I try to push them in all the unsigned threads, but I agree -- A label would definitely help with exposure. They have had signing opportunities in the past, but they didn't take them...I don't know why. It makes me sad, but I like their stuff, in any case.

I won't so far as to say Quick and the Dead are completely below decent, but they're no K2Y.
