Get some dumb bells and hold your arms straight at your sides. bend to the side at your waist and then straighten. repeat a lot. (further explanation if you need it:
Side bend (obliques - side of abs)
Standing with your feet shoulder width apart and your back straight, hold a dumb-bell in your right hand by your side, with your left hand on your waist. Slowly bend down to the right (fig.16), then return to the start position. Then bend to the left (fig.17).15 reps, then change the weight over to your other hand.)

or grab a medicine ball and do 25 pick pockets for 3 sets.
^ actually works. My sides were kinda sore the next day after doing these for the first time.

You can't gain weight and then turn it into muscle; you have to gain the weight as muscle. Fat and muscle are two different things; one doesn't turn into the other by working out certain ways. Fat burns off and muscles grow.

oblique implants.
don't know why, but that made me laugh.
when you do a crunch, just as you pull up, turn from side to side.
so it's like -up halfway, left, right, full up, then down again.
repeat.

you really shouldn't work your obliques too much until you've really worked your core (the rest of your abdominal muscles) for a few weeks or even months, and then you can consider introducing oblique exercises to your workout

You could just kick box with Chuck Norris, although, that might result in your untimely demise.

Lifting your legs and twisting your arms, like a knee basically is pretty good. Also, if you lay on your side, and lift your legs while keeping your torso on the ground, it's one of the hardest things i've ever done. Actually, i kind of suck at explaining it, but get a workout video just for abs. They would probably do something like it there.

you may look corny doing this at a gym or something, but get one of those exercise balls, lay across it on your side to where your upper body is hanging off, and lift yourself.
