Hello,

My name is mitch I play bass in the band The Vidrines. I simply ask
that you check us out and let us know what you think. Our Myspace page
is www.myspace.com/thevidrines (http://www.myspace.com/thevidrines) from there you can check out live videos,
listen to our music, and also sample our full length CD. Thank you for
your time. Here is a brief bit about us.

The Vidrines are working hard as hell to bring a different aroma to
the North Louisiana music scene and beyond. They are already forgiven of
all sins, and wish to offer that same forgiveness to others. The
Vidrines like many other bands write lots of songs about girls but not the
kind that carpenters want to hear.

They sing about: - floods that spoil murder plans
- what some girl said
- seeing your boyfriend get killed by a flashlight
- what men really think about
- multiplication, addition, subtraction
- being murdered and dumped into the harbor
- what women really think about
- why it's best not to kill the woman
- female guitar players
- arrogance
- the fluid nature of a sunset
- impatience and its circular path
- what monkeys do after the organ career is up

We're tired of failing to describe The Sound of the band.

We find it likeable.

Meh. I don't like it really... The recordings are also not very good quality, but you know that.

Also, I hate it when bands describe themselves as "better" than anything. You'll learn quickly that that doesn't make you good, nor does it make people pay attention; if anything it loses you fans.

Meh, I respect your opinion. The recordings on the CD are professionally mixed and mastered and are very good. I assume you didnt navigate lower then the streaming media section of the page or you would have seen the link to the actual CD.

The songs on the myspace are all Live they are not mixed or mastered with the exception of Holla which is a very rough mix and Bonnie and Clyde JBN mix which is a DJ friend of ours that did an electronica version of that song. They are simply songs we have yet to put on a record but didnt want people to continue listening to the same songs from the CD on the myspace page considering we have about 15 songs not yet recorded.

I suppose we could sond like every Emo/Post hardcore band out there and for shits and giggles cover songs by The Temptations and Kanye West ;)

I probably shouldnt have asked for the opinion of the people on absolute punk considering we dont sound anything like Midtown,Brand New, etc.

Thanks for the opinion. Keep it real.

when you do link to your music, link to the best stuff you have, don't link to some some shitty live version link to the best mixes you have and not something i have to download to check out...i did listen to the bonnie and clyde song, its ok, but i think the mix is shitty, it could sound a hell of a lot better.

as far as asking for peoples opinion on here, yeah you guys don't sound like brand new or midtown, but its not 2003, and people on this site listen to a wide range of music and have no problem praising good music or calling out shitty music when they hear it.
