this is why I gave reasons for my hate. Its a review of jason, and still NO ONE responds with REAL opinions. If you don't hate tell us why. If you DO hate, say why. Its pretty easy. Jason spends all day hating on anything that's not girly emo, so why can't webmasters be "reviewed" in the same fashion as bands?

Why do I like him? He puts a lot of time and effort into this site. He puts his own money into this site. I've discovered a lot of awesome bands thru this site. He seems like a cool guy. Ok... where to begin.

On one hand I personally hate Tate with every ounce of my soul, because the man is more or less one of the leading figures in ruining what punk rock once stood for. The bands he promotes, talks about, and listens to are in my opinion some of the least talented, unoriginal, boring, and un-inspiring groups ever created. On top of that, the man bashes on anything that isn't mainstream or doesn't have a singer that sounds like a girl.

However, this is his "site" and he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it. He could just make the site dedicated to his gay fantasies about gangbangs with Yellowcard (and NoUse, they are "girly emo"- hate to break it to you) that are obviously running through his mind 24/7 since he can't go a single day without making a fucking news post reguarding them.

And for the rest of you tards. We are part of a community, reguardless of who is in controll of it. If the community isn't happy with the leaders, then they can of course voice their opinions like this kid is doing. He may not have any right to say it, but it's bull shit to censor it. If I had a site, I'd fucking love for people to criticize it, because then I might, just might make some changes to appease the masses, instead of spawning two sites from former members who got fed up with my shit. So in short, stop bitching at this guy. He has every right to say what he's saying.

You need to understand something. What you may believe is "good" or "real" punk, is your own opinion. That doesn't mean its true. Or that everybody should think the same way as you. Jason has made a site expressing his opinion on the music he likes. He's just doing something he wants to do and theres no real point in giving him a hard time about it. He puts up with annoying kids who rip on him for doing something he has invested a hell of a lot of time, money and energy. He is doing something he loves only to have a bunch of ungreatful morons come onto his site, use his bandwidth, read his news posts, use his forums etc.... I dont always agree with the what he says, and in fact, I think he has alot of favorite bands who really suck, but you know what? its his site and if he wants to nut his pants over the new brand new album or yellowcard or whoever, thats his business and its his site for stating his own opinions, and i can respect him for that. theres no such thing as punk anymore. it died in the 80's. no one cares anymore.

Anyway, since I might as well voice my opinion instead of telling rockerhud to go to hell, though he belongs there. . . I agree wholeheartedly with everyone who has said they appreciate everything Jason does with the site, i.e money, time, etc. Frankly, I have a lot of the same favorite bands as Jason (Yellowcard especially). What I don't understand is the huge deal everyone makes about him "ruining punk" or whatever. Jesus, music can be a lot of things for people, and most of the time you don't worry about what concept you're ruining when you voice your opinion. Just think about it this way. Jason can obviously relate to Yellowcard because of what their songs are about, which is why he loves them so much, and why I love them so much. I left a girl I love to come down to college; think the YC lyric in my sig ("back home") isn't going to mean something to me? I just wish people would relax sometimes and let people love the bands they love. They love them for a reason.

I for one believe that the majority of music that has been put out during the past decade has been the most tastless, unoriginal, boring un-inspiring crap ever concieved, and it is only getting worse. And yes, there are music historians, and they agree.

Mainstream music is a fucking joke, with only a handful of musicians that even deserve half the credit they get. And guess what, the 'punk' music that Tate promotes is quickly becoming a part of that. And the fact that he continues to emphasize bands like yellowcard being punk, is completely killing the meaning of the word, much like 99% of the fucking media driven clones parading around the forums.

And that's wonderful that you can relate to Yellowcard's lyrics... I mean sure everyone has probably been dumped and gets so depressed that they have to make themselves feel better by writing album after album on the same topic about the same girl not liking them....
