The Straw In Your Eye
The straw in your eye
Is heavier than
The bricks you stack against my back
This is the (last) straw
It's going to get the job done
Going to break my back (break me down)
Enough of deciphering these thoughts
And polishing the truth to make you look good
The breaking point has come and gone
I'd like a refund for all the time I've spent
For you to get one more chance
At stabbing me in the back
Those eyes are what use to keep me going
Now within it lays the truth
And the image of what you appeared to be flickers away
No one knows how you cause the rain (pain)
But I know to judge you for these mistakes
And base my actions on your selfish pride
My eye so clear, so empty
I realize what's blocking your vision
Yet I know what you truly are
The straw in your eye
Is heavier than
The bricks you stack against my back
This is the (last) straw
It's going to get the job done
Going to break my back (break me down)
Enough of deciphering these thoughts
And polishing the truth to make you look good
The breaking point has come and gone
I'd like a refund for all the time I've spent
For you to get one more chance
At stabbing me in the back
Those eyes are what use to keep me going
Now within it lays the truth
And the image of what you appeared to be flickers away
No one knows how you cause the rain (pain)
But I know to judge you for these mistakes
And base my actions on your selfish pride
My eye so clear, so empty
