Haven't really done that much looking into it, but loved the first one. Does this one really stack up to the first one?

its a lot different. theres no story in this one, just straight multiplayer. You can also get out of your plane and fight on the ground w/ tanks/cars/etc. its really solid.

i played it pretty much all day yesterday (with metroid and bioshock put on hold). its worth the 40, IMO. the gameplay is great. its a really solid game.

yeah i got to play a bit more after the freezing, it was fun, i need to get a bit better at this game, but so far its worth my $40, my only other complaint is that its a bitch when you'll see a room w/ 18/24 and try to get into it and it says game full, and that' immediately after refreshing the server list

sounds good, I've been playing a lot, good rec on the game, i'm very glad i purchased it. The only issue is that its been freezing up some, which a patch should be out shortly to fix that problem, other than that its all good, well that and they won't update my stats after playing on ranked servers, but i haven't checked it today, I'll be playing after work later on tonight, so if anyone is on hit me up

i havent had it freeze on me, but regarding the ranking updates etc. they said they had problems with the servers due to so many people gettin on during the first week but that it should be fixed shortly

yeah its definitely a server problem w/ the freezing, a lot of people (Both Discs and Downloaded versions) are having the issue. It happens for awhile then stops.

roughly about 750mb, its definitely worth picking up. I'd DL it for $40 rather than buying it and getting the headset, no one really uses a headset unless i guess you're w/ friends. But yeah man pick it up, its one of the better games out on PS3 at the moment

It does currently have some bugs but i think most of that was fixed w/ 1.92 last night, but rankings are still down which sucks but they'll fix it

Yeah, I wouldn't get a headset. I've only got one friend that I know of that has a PS3 and he probably won't get this game, and I probably wouldn't use the headset anyways even if he did.

I've been wondering how these downloadable games work - do they keep some sort of record that you bought it and then you can redownload it indefinately (if your hard drive somehow fries, somebody deletes it off your system, etc.)?

When you purchase it, you get 5 downloads, so if you have to move over to another hard drive you can. With Warhawk however since its so expensive you only get 5 downloads on 1 username, so if you're PS3 has more than 1 username, it'll only be on 1 of them. Its basically to prevent sharing. But w/ regular games you can share them w/ friends, they just have to sign onto your PS3 store name.

yeah i've been ranking first on a few of the matches, a lot of it is strategy on the team death matches

And since it took me forever, maybe you guys dont know. To play with people on your friends list (and they're already in a game), go to Community > Buddies > and you can pick their name and join their game.

ranked servers i believe, i've not really gotten to play much lately, plus since stats are not getting updated at all which sucks

haha fortunately for me i started playing when everyone was new, so that type of stuff didnt happen often.

I didnt figure out you can do a boost in the planes until like 4 days after i had started playing, haha.
