The Silent Escape – Hide Them In The Cemetery EP

Who Is It?
The Silent Escape hails from Atlanta, but they’re really men on the road. The screaming is passable, but the strong singing has bright Claudio Sanchez moments (see “Paper Cut Castles” and “I’m Not Mad I’m Impressed”) that brings out the band's better side.
How Is It?
Within the first track, “Disco Inferno,” I am turned off, on, off, and then on again. Screamo is either done well or well-butchered, and this is the former a good portion of the time. The vocals could use some consistency and the breakdowns could use more umph, but for the couple good tracks on the EP, The Silent Escape really own their niche. Moments of vice-like grip and well-crafted structure should give this southern effort promise for the future.
