By Autumns End – The Serpent. The State. The Slaughter. The Plague.
Release Date: April 17th, 2007
Record Label: Hand Of Hope Records
Who:
Former members of Cute Is What We Aim For release their debut full length for Hand Of Hope Records. Yes, it’s heavier than CIWWAF.
How Is It?:
Dissonant chords interspersed in chugga chug guitar licks? Check. Pounding drums and breakdowns? Check. Song titles both long and silly? Check. Metal-core is what we aim for and metal-core is what we get. The riffs are heavy and there are screams aplenty, but sometimes it just starts to sound like every other band out there doing this same thing. There are moments of hardcore heaven but for the most part it just ends up sounding like it has been done before. The southern rock flair injected into some songs does its part to give the band a little bit of style. If this aspect was more prominent, the record would be a little more endearing and would distance itself from the masses. If you are a fan of Norma Jean or Evergreen Terrace, By Autumns End might be just the thing you need to satisfy your needs between those bands’ next releases. Or you could just pick up a Botch record and hear this sound at its best.
1. You Won't Know What Hit You (And Even If You Did It Wouldn't Matter)
2. Chrome Hearts Come With Feeding Tubes
3. By The Way Thanks For Dressing Up (Bound And Gagged In A Pickup Truck)
4. Don't Worry Be Happy (We've All Been Reduced To Taxidermy)
5. Hang 'Em High
6. A Two Minute And Thirty Nine Second Panic Attack
7. Holy Blood (The Erection And Worship Of False Idols)
8. What Does The Coroner Have To Say About It?
9. Come And Get One In The Yarbles (If You Have Any Yarbles)
10. The Most Hostile Environment. (Since The Men's Room At The Buffalo Bills Game)
11. That's A Beautiful Accent
12. And I Asked, “Charlie Are We In Hell Man?”, And He Replied, “Yeah It's Pretty Groovy Ain't It?” AP.net Profile (http://www.absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?do=showdetails&l=3099) | Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/byautumnsend) | Purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/byautumnsend) | Hand of Hope Records Site (http://www.handofhoperecords.net/)
