I don't know if anybody brought this up, i just kind of glanced at the first page topics real quick. I heard the movielife announced today that they're breaking up, and tonight was their last show. Was anybody at the show tonight? Details?

Oh, i heard fairweather broke up too. So that completes the trifecta, right? Shai-hulud, fairweather, then the movielife. Icky.

That would blow dogs for quarters if they did. They are one of the best live bands ever, and I just saw them in June on the Made tour. They are definitely one of my faves.

Damn them again.... if what I hear is true, that they broke up b/c they didn't like the way that the music industry is going, then I think that's a really shitty reason to break up. If you don't like something, then you should try to change it- not give up. You get your ass out there, and try to change what you don't like. I can't believe that a band that kicks as much as as they do would do something stupid like that.

One can only hope...

Maybe they will see the huge response this has gotten and try to work things out.

i saw these guys in grand rapids, mich in june. and they totally kicked ass.
they prolly put on the best show ive ever seen. (aside from brand new anyway...)

we should start a petition/letter kinda thing to the band signed by everyone here telling them why they cant break up!!!

it is true .. i've heard from friends of the band and the rx bandits also played a song for them last night dedicating it because rx played with them for their last show. it does indeed suck but .. maybe they'll move on for better things ... /me crosses my fingers ..

I hear you. I was at the same show, and I think they played better than FSF that night. They so cannot break up, it's just not right. My reflections on their breakup are here, if anyone cares:

I apologize for the delay in posting a statement about what has gone on in the last few days. Hopefully the following letter will say what would have been too difficult to announce any other way.

Today we are officially announcing that we have all mutually decided to stop being the Movielife. It has been the most incredible experience for all of us, but we have no plans to continue being a band. We care greatly for one another and wish each other the best that life can bring.

We want to thank everyone who has allowed us to be a part of their life. Every show and every person's effect on us has been immeasurable. We hope that we have created something that will continue to live and breathe like music should. It is difficult to find the words to explain the magnitude of various emotions we have all gone through recently. It also is difficult to make others understand how we have evaluated our futures.

The beauty of everything though has been the amount we have been able to share with all of you. All of our lives have forever been changed once we made this band our life. Every sacrifice has been worth it. You have all been our heart for so long and we are forever gracious for all that you have allowed us to become. We have been incredibly fortunate to have so many of our dreams come true. The only feeling that has surpassed that is the honor that it has been to share it with all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Take care of one another. Love Always. The Movielife.

its all true... I was at the show. Before their last song they just flat out said
"this i the last song we will ever play together, This is our last show. Its been a great six years. Thanks for everything."
Towards the end of the song a bunch of stupid little shits jumped up on stage and were bumpin into them and stuff... Id be really friggan pissed if i was plyin my last song ever with my band and some little punks were bumping into me. Whatever, this sucks. I was on their site two minutes after their farewell letter was posted. I already knew it was true but it just hit harder htan while at the show.
