I just got home from seeing TSL, it was sold out 1100+ kids and more than half the crowd was little girls who just jumpped around and hit me while i was trying to watch the bands preform. I play guitar and there is nothign more i love doing then watching my fav bands play their songs live so i can see what theyre really doing. Its hard when the first 15 rows are sceaming annoying girls. Ive been going to shows for six-seven years now and its just in the last year i cant stand it anymore. Does anyone else feel as if its better to say home and listen to the cd than put up with the girls a the shows now?

awwwww...I know what you mean. there are a bunch of girls at shows now and stuff. Some kinda annoying like the TSL show I went to also.. but I havent had much of a problem. Although the whole pop-punk thing has gotten huge and everyone likes it now, I used to be the only one..awwww..boo
maybe if enough lil girls get hurt at those shows they will be 18 and over. hehe.

punk shows are the thing to do lately. everyone wants to go to one. just wait though in a bit it wont be as bad. and the screaming 15 year olds will be facinated by something else. perhaps it will be something productive like cleaning bathrooms or collecting bottles.

yea, those little girls are annoying but it's so much fun to push/hit them "accidentally". but i don't think that all shows should be 18+. It really sucks when a band you really wanna see or support has a show that's 18+ and you're too young (i'm 17).

I would be such a different person if I hadn't been allowed to go to shows for the past couple years. I turned 18 in June, and I've been going to concerts since I started high school. . .and they changed my life, without a doubt, not to mention inspiring me to start a band of my own. Putting up with the little girls is worth it for the experience.

i dont think shows should be 18+. well..mostly because i'm 14. (and what a coincidence..i'm also a female! ). and it's really unfair for the ones under 18.

yeah i know what you mean. it can be really annoying...its stupid when all the little people go up as far as they can , and then when the pit starts they all start whining and get hurt :( its sad, ive carried many many girls out of the centre. Its unfortunate, but hey nothing we can do about it. As long as people are having fun...i guess thats all that counts right?

I saw Good Charlotte, which WAS one of my favorite bands, two years ago at a tiny club with about 100 other people, and I was one of the youngest people there (I was fifteen at the time). Now I can't even go see them anymore because of the little bitches looking "hardcore" with kohl eyeliner, ratted hair, and Made t-shirts. The last time I saw them, I had the worst time, and now I really don't even like them anymore because their shows are full of hate. What happened to going to a show, moshing a little, and sharing the love you have for a band with everyone? And a few weeks ago at Yellowcard, these little bitches crowded the stage, smoking cigarettes and jumping around and cheering. I'm just getting sick of it. I was that age once, and I am a girl, but I never did that. The only reason I think that shows should be 18+ is because I'm going to be 18 in a few months, and by that time, I won't be snowed in anymore (I don't go to many winter shows because the snow is so bad here), and I'll be able to go to them. I just won't have anyone to go with, because none of my friends like the music, except for my younger friends (Not much younger, though-I just don't want to wait another year for them to turn 18).

..rapist. Look the girls will always be there, look at the plus side, the girls are paying money, which is more cash for the bands who deserve it.

Ok, I really disagree with this whole thread. I'm 15 and yes, I am a girl. But I don't go around screaming during the concert. I'm just a big a fan as anyone else on this board of actually listening to the music. You can't classify "15 year old girls" as being preppy-punk wannabes. Not all of us are like that. And not only are the girls annoying with the mesh hats but the "15 year old guys" do the same shit but I don't hear anyone complaining about them.

Yeah. SEXISTS. Hahaha.
I agreeee, I'm fifteen and a girl too, but I don't walk around with mesh hats and kohl eyeliner running off the side of my face like I know alot of kids do. 15 year old guys are even worse than some of us, but they don't get crap because they're guys, so its cool for them to like punk, or rock, or whatever music is at the show. but automatically if a girl likes it, you have to assume she's just going because the guys are hot.
I appreciate the music much more than almost every guy friend I have, and he doesn't get crap for liking the bands he does, but I do. My male friends, their music tastes consist of the bands I've told them about and made them listen to, but nooooo. I still get shit for liking a band and they don't, when they've heard one or two songs.
And I'm going to the Brand New + Straylight Run + Hot Rod Circuit show at Roseland on Nov. 28. And I'm gonna get shit for going, and people are going to say I'm just going to see Jesse or something. But, I appreciate the music just as much as the next person.
And it's my money I spent, so fuck off. And, I don't scream saying I love you (insert hot lead singers name here)!
On a side note...because I always have one, I don't fit in on this board. I wear my school uniform as thus; my polo shirt collar up 80's style, and my skanky school skirt to my ass. Maybe I should cut off my long hair and get a dykey emo girl haircut and some thick black glasses. Then maybe I'd be worthy of the music.

I'll be 21 in a month and I don't think shows should be 18+. At one time, each and every one of us was probably the clueless fan. We should try to educate the youngin's... If they won't have it, then just kick their asses in the pit. I've had my good times and memories in the first row. Now I'm waiting for my birthday so I can relax and enjoy the show from the balcony.

at some points i wish they were 18+ shows because they are chill and everyone is having a good time, getting in no one elses way. but then again when i wasn't 18 i would wish and wish i could go to the shows

I am split down the middle now that I've cooled off and I'm not so pissed off anymore. It's like, I remember being 15 and crazy into punk and screaming along to songs. I still do it. But I guess it's just because I am getting older that I would rather go to a show and smoke a cigarette without 20 different 13-year-olds trying to bum one off of me, or stand in the front without dealing with "little kids" trying to mouth off to me, letting out strings of profanities that would make a drunk marine blush. No respect.

there's a place where i live that is all 18+ and im 15 (and a girl, coincidentally) so whenever a friends band plays there, i actually have to go with them and pretend to be a roadie. it kinda sucks but i get in free which is great. i go there sometimes when i just want to see a show and i've never been seriously carded. they get my id and kinda glance at it and let me in. eventually, i wont be able to get in one time and ill be pissed off enough to rant and rave but right now im kinda mellow.

i'm age 16, and also happen to be a female, and i agree with what some other girls have said in the above posts, that they get shit for going to the shows and stuff and i'm exactly the same but hey, what did you expect i guess.
we're not all the screaming 14 year olds. i've been listening to this music since 1997, being only 11 years old or something and grown up on that. previously i'd been listening to my dads rock and roll records so i appreciate music with everything in me. there are plenty of girls like me, who are labelled as "screaming little girls" but it's just not true for some of us.
sure, i will definately admit there are a bunch of annoying younger girls at the shows who you just want to kill, and that's fair enough but it doesn't mean you gotta judge every girl at a show.
hope that made sense .. meh

i rarely go to shows anymore.
1) it makes me feel old and cynical
2) most bands I dont care about seeing live
3) i pretty much resent almost every person at shows. Everyone is too typical with their dickies, band t shirt, and black chucks.

this is great when i was 15 i was seeing bands like indecision and hot water music i was never stupid or annoying to anyone i went and enjoyed the music, now that MTV sunk is teeth into the pop punk scene ive noticed an annoying increase of girls its true or that channal fuse hit the airwaves its just been getting crazy. When i was 15 there were 18+ shows and it sucked but hey seeing a band isnt going to make or break you unless you live for the scene points. yes the 10 girls that did post on here may not be the annoying ones but you know what there are many many many more 15 year old girls out there that are annoying.
18+ forever!!!!
