Oh yeah, my dad told me about that. I mean it is sick and all, but if the person they have who is commiting suicide wants it that way, then who are we to tell him how to take his own life, or not to take his own life?

I just have a problem with the whole "planning ahead" theory... It wouldnt be nearly as disturbing if he just went ahead with it, instead of putting himself on the market like that...It just leaves me with a bad feeling...

Yeah I know what you mean. Suicide is supposed to be a personal thing, and putting it all out in the open like that makes it look like their just doing it to get attention.

Wow, that's fucked up.... I didn't read the entire article, did it say how the person is going to do it? I hope the people going to that show know exactly what's going to happen, that'd fuck with my head pretty bad if I went to a show and someone killed themselves on-stage and I wasn't expecting it.

~Ugh~ I remember that... Im a huge Slipknot fan, as you all know...and I was just fucking pissed when I read that... I get angry when these psycho fucked up teenies decide they wanna slaughter someone and authorities have no one better to blame than the artists they were listening to right before the incident..Its just asanine, and now Im upset.. I <3 Slipknot... Oh, and DEATH Metal?? Are they for real???

Yeah, I know. It's sooo stupid, that was a while ago though and I'm sure slipknot never got involved in any trouble regarding that.

part of me thinks its the persons choice, and really, theres nothing more punk rock than raising awareness for your cause. However, I think that this band is just using this sad situation to create press for their new cd. The thought of the suicide being used to raise an issue doesnt bother me, but the fact that this group is trying to profit off of it does.

Im just glad that its not gonna be live anymore. Ive had enough suicide in my life to know its not something Id wanna see at a show. If sickos wanna check it out on the web, whatever, theyre just wrong. But at least it wont be in front of an actual audience. I guess the eral underlying question we should be talking about is assisted suicide in itself. Personally, I dont see anything wrong with it in certain situations. EX. If someone suffering from cancer is in so much pain they just dont want to live anymore, then at least they would die in a peaceful manner from the hands of a medical professional. I think thatd be alot better way to go than a loaded gun.

I agree, suicide is a horrible thing, and it is unnatural. I dont know the whole thing, but alot of times people who seek out help in committing suicide have a terminal disease they cant cure, and the pain becomes too great. If that person wants to end it painlessly, I will support them. But I wont support some depressed nutjob who thinks a gun is his salvation.

as sick as this topic is, i've been really intrigued by some of ya'lls comments. we have a lot of the same opinions.
i've never actually had to form an opinion about the "right to die" issue. to be honest, it never really came up.
so... to offer my two cents to the discussion...
suicide is not a pretty thing.
i've seen one of my friends go through with it.
and why someone would want to go to a concert to see it performed on stage is beyond me. i think "sick" is a great word to describe it.
but on the other hand, dying on stage might be somewhat of a last-minute adrenaline (sp) rush. i mean, to have people watch you take your life... if you liked to live your life in the center stage and would be happier going out that way... then i guess, more power to you?
i mean... i think i read somewhere that a good percentage of people attempt suicide for the sake of gaining attention. too bad you're kind of dead before you get the attention you're after.
and that's all i have to say, i think.

I don't belive in killing yourself just because you're depressed. That's a really stupid reason. My dad's dad killed himself in the 60's and I never knew him. My dad didn't even get to know him. But I think that I was TERMINALLY ILL, then I would probably kill myself because I don't want to spend the rest of my days in a morphine haze, and I wouldn't want to feel any more pain.

one of the bands my boss manages actually did a show a while back with that band... he told me that they scared everyone out of the club and they had like a gang of traveling weirdos who followed them to every show who ran around and screamed in people's faces and shit. dumbasses.

as far as the suicide goes, i don't agree with it. i understand the reason for wanting to do it when you have a terminal disease and everything, it's natural to not want to suffer, but in other circumstances... i don't see the point.

My two favorite songs off that album are the kinda slower ones, pretty ambient, you know which ones Im talking about? I forgot the names cause I havent listened to that CD in quite a while, but theyre pretty sweet. Maybe I like them cause Im such a trip hop fan though.

Yeah, I hear ya... When I used to live in PA back in the day, I used to work at a Citgo station as a cashier for oh about 2 months!! Anyway.. Their tour bus came in to get gas and they came into the store and purchased Gatorades, Snapples and a bag of Doritos, Cool Ranch...I gave it to them for free... and I got autographs.. Also came into my store: Steven Tyler, and Dave from one of the Real Worlds... LOL!!!

Anyways...I think my favorite Slipknot song will always be "Wait and Bleed" although I hear there is a new album coming very soon... I cant wait...
