Real Lunch - Ghosts and Numbers
Released January 21st, 2007
Self-Released
Who?
Local Chicago collective set their pace alongside smart yet sensibly dancey acts like The Killers or The Bravery. The band though seemingly young, go hand-in-hand with a maturity and innovation that I'd expect to just be emerging in a band twice their age.
How Is It?
Ghosts and Numbers really is a hell of a showcase. Only five songs, Real Lunch have done an impeccable job of shuffling the cards just right each time a new track starts -- making this EP just as fresh of a listen the tenth time through as it was in your first rotation.
RIYL: The Cars, The Bravery, Arcade Fire, The Killers
Songs To Check Out Immediately: "Sirens", "Television Music"
