haha...I'm about branding it...that way it ALWAYS has that asterisk on it, even if the record book doesn't.
If not...send that bitch to the moon

Think Cooperstown would take that shit if it had an asterisk on it? Make everybody happy.

not a fan of bonds or the giants, i just think the ball should be left as is. bonds record will always be remembered as controversial without all the extra things.

blast that shit to orbit...and then a few years later it can ram one of our space shuttles! And then we'll all hate Bonds more.

cant blame him for being pissed. its his crowning achievement being possibly tainted. not to mention a waste of money most of us will never see at one time in our life.

true, to us. im talking from his perspective though. im sure he's not sitting their thinking that he doesn't deserve the record or that every thing he's done is a complete hoax.
if you read the article he does mention the waste of money and the record not being tainted.

When you are as rich as Marc Ekco, 750k is nothing.

see...I love that Barry is pissed NOW that the ball is potentially going to get marred or sent to space. Because, when he hit the ball, his response was very different...it was more along the lines of "oh, well, the ball doesn't mean that much to me...I'm not going to buy it"...but now that his legacy is going to be that of the guy whose momentous achievement was cauterized by branding/a space mission, all of the sudden the ball matters and the guy is an idiot.

i still say it belongs in the hall of fame, unmarked... that's the purist in me.
however, the irony of "purist" in this context means i wouldn't mind if someone took a cattle prod to it.

Personally, I'd burn the asterisk into it, smear shit all over it, and mail it to Bonds with a hate letter..

hahaha, thats awesome. he had a "diary of" on MTV, where he went to some diner place late at night, met and had a meal with all these college kids, and the one guy was like "you should buy our dinner man" and he's just like "fuck that man, im a celebrity, you should buy mine!" he was joking, but it was funny.

Does anyone realize this is a classic Green party situation? Two choices to tarnish or destroy the ball and only one choice to leave it as is. Even if 60% of the votes don't want the ball unmarked in the HOF, if the split is 30-30 between the two other choices... the 40% of people that are aren't going to stand up for a now meaningless record are going to win out. Shame.

The ball Barry Bonds (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/3918/;_ylt=As3rkar_AqaONR4wwJ_KfmKpu7YF) hit for his record-breaking 756th home run will be branded with an asterisk and sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame, its owner said Wednesday.
The asterisk suggests that Bonds' record is tainted by alleged steroid use. The slugger has denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs. Fans brought signs with asterisks on them to ballparks as he neared Aaron's hallowed mark.
Hall of Fame president Dale Petroskey, also interviewed on the show, said accepting the ball did not mean the Hall endorses the viewpoint that Barry Bonds used drugs
