political punk?

i totally support their right to complain about and criticize our government. i have no problem with that, its a basic right.

BUT, i have problems with the fact that some of these bands seem to use this gimmick simply for record sales and publicity. No one could have that much of a problem with the government that they can make 12 cds about it.....how about keeping it more to 4 songs a cd or something? we get the point, no need to reiterate it.

I agree with you. Sites like www.punkvoter.com are a joke. I dont know what Fat Mike has against our president, but whatever it is, he needs to get over it. On that site, there is a "list of 15 reasons to hate George w." The thing about this list is it doesnt not give the real reasons that Bush made the decisions, and just leaves it at "he did this and it was bad". Whatever. Thats yellow journalism at its worst, and although I respect the rights of political punks, I wont listen to them, because most are fighting just to fight, and the ones that truly belive what they are saying, most of the time I disagree with them.

Fair enough....however, I think Anti-Flag has done a pretty good job making numerous political points on all its CDs. I don't think they've become unoriginal and repetitive.

No one here said that they agreed with Fat Mike, or took their opinions for truths, so that was a really dumb post.

i like anti flags music, but i must admit the propaganda has grown rather repetitive.....but then again lyrics aren't always what makes music good...

Unfortunately many young people do get their views, if I can call them views, from this fat ass....and that is the true evil of what he is doing promoting lies or half truths to impressionable youths who believe them with out thinking.......

lyrics might not be what makes music good, but they can DEFINITELY make a song bad.....and the case of a lot of political punk, they do.

they have the choice to and some political music does turn out good (see the living end)... in Fat Mike's case, if he does brainwash kids so effectively, why doesn't he try that in the real political forums?

if you're asking why he doesn't run for office, its because 15 year olds can't vote....

meh...most of the bands I listen to are political to one degree or another. I had my views before I started listening to them. Punk got ime interested in Anarchism, but I did the reading and made up my own mind.
