share your thoughts here, here's mine

the night started off with one of my personal faves, senses fail. i've seen them before in a smaller venue so it was odd for them to play in front of a still small but slightly bigger sold out venue. they put on a ood show i wish they would've interacted with the crowd a bit more but they didn't have a long set so i'm glad they maximized it by playing as much music as they could. they opened with "bloody romance" which kicked ass, the teeny boppers were bothering me cuz i don't mind when pits start, but i don't go in them, but the girls act all like well, girly about it. they closed their set with the classic "187" which was very intense, buddy screamed the last minute of the song away and tore off his shirt in a fit of rage. very intense. anyways yea senses fail played a good set consisting of the songs(in no order): bloody romance, free fall without a parachute, bite to break skin, stephen, 187, handguns and second chances, there might've been more, don't quite remember.

2nd band and my personal favorite of the night, the early fucking november. i just love this band. they kicked the set off with the heavier "take time and find" which really got everyone in the pit riled. they closed the set with the equally intense "every night's another story". this band really knows how to impress, more and more everytime i see em. really nice fuckin guys too. their set consisted of these songs (again no order): take time and find, sunday drive, i want to hear you sad, baby blue, all we ever needed, every night's another story

3rd band was allister. not a big fan of these guys but they really know how to rock a crowd. in other words, they didn't fuck around. they came right out and bursted into "radio player" which kicks ass and people were "dancing" left and right. i was highly impress by these guys, very fun music. they closed with th sing along anthem of all their songs, "somewhere on fullerton". i'm not a big fan so i don't remember their whole set, but here's off the top of my head: radio player, flypaper, moper, overrated, camouflage, scratch, none of my friends are punks, somewhere on fullerton

4th band was home grown. i don't know many songs by them so i knew i wasn't gonna be singing along much. what i've heard by them i've liked so i was sort of excited to see em. what a bummer. maybe it's cuz they played mostly songs unknown to me, but even when they played songs i knew i wasn't into it. funny guys and nice and stuff, but i just didn't think they were too into it. well i wasn't to into them, and since i didn't know any of the songs they played besides the ones i knew, here's the ones i knew: tomorrow, i'll never fall in love, kiss me diss me, you're not alone.

and finally a band (believe it or not) i've never seen live, the starting line. they came out and rocke right out wit the song "given the chance". the acoustics in the building were not top-notch, but i was impressed by their set. there was some humor in their set, like kenny collecting the posters the girls brought in that said "i love kenny" and stuff like that. then he would show them off to the guitarist matt. but then kenny reconciled by showing matt the picture of matt's head apparently cut out of a magazine and gave it to matt and told matt that he's an attractive guy. matt then took a picture of kenny's head cut out and ripped it in half. bitter young man. kenny then proceeded to say "fuck you then, last time i ever give u a compliment" or something along those lines. after that commotion he also gave a band from buffalo, and one of my favorites, every time i die a shout out. most people were left clueless as to who they even are, but i bet every time i die got downloaded by a few people after the show ended. the starting line was solid, played mostly new songs, but i was still partial to the early november, i thought they did a lot more even with having a very short set compared to tsl's very long set. however, tsl did play a acoustic song, which i loved, the title track from their upcoming "make yourself at home ep" was squeezed into their epic set. i was sort of hoping they would play all the instruments rather than have the electronic drums play over their acoustics, i was still highly impressed. i was happy to hear 2 new songs by them, i've been hearing about these songs for awhile so it was fufilling to finally hear them. though some would disagree i think the 2 new songs are just good old starting line, nothing too different, which in my eyes is a good thing. though we kept chanting "cheek to cheek", the request was denied, which was very disappointing. prolly my favorite starting line song ever, and the firts i ever heard, was excluded from their very long set, that could've done without the ja rule and j.lo cover. they closed with one of my faves tho a song called "this ride". here's the set, or at least what i remember cuz they played a lot of songs: given the chance, left coast envy, a good night's sleep, up and go, i'm real, saddest girl story, suprise suprise, classic jazz, leaving, the best of me, hello houston, three's a charm, this ride.

i was highly impressed wit the show, i really hope drive thru does this again. oh yea, almost forgot, watch out for the huge bumblebee!!!

Maybe because it's a show review, and there is a show review forum.
