I have noticed an increasing number of people holding their cell phones high in the air at every show I go to. I don't get it. Who are you calling? A friend who couldn't make it? Your mom? Personally, I would call my own damn voice mail and record my favorite song so I could hear it the next day. Just my $0.02...

that's weird, I've never seen anyone hold thier phone up.

they are probably calling a friend or something, but i would imagine that it wouldn't sound too good.

isn't it funny/interesting how only a few years ago most people didnt have cell phones, and now we are completely dependent on them?

i usually dont bring my cell to shows anymore, just cuse I dont want to lose it, but I did try the whole calling my own voice mail to record it, and it sounded like crap, so yeah that usually doesnt work, unless your REALLY far away...

YUP. At the recent Vendetta Red/Brand New/MxPx/Dashboard Confessional show. MxPx played an acoustic song and people held out lighters and I pulled out my cell phone and everyone else did too, it was fucking awesome looking we lit up the Universal Ampetheatre with our backlights, it really did look awesome!!!!

i dont own a cell phone nor do i really want one because im not responsible enough to hold onto it. id lose it in about a day or crack it or something. i just shmooze off all my friends and use theirs whenever i need to call someone.

Same here. My parents won't let me have one because I don't have a job therefore I can't pay for the bill. I guess I'm a moocher too.

yea i too am jobless, but i dont need one anyway because i hate talking on the phone. and ill just let my friends pay for the minutes or whatever:)

so true!

i remember years ago when my parents got these big black bricky cell phones .. early nokia models. and i thought "wow". never thought i would get to own a cell phone. thank god they're smaller now .. :)

i dont use mine all that much, only when i go out and it's needed.

Last night at the Dashboard show, Mike from MxPx was like, "Raise your lighter in the air, and if you don't have one, use your cell phone." That's the only time I've ever held mine up. I was going to call my friend because she couldn't go to the show, and let her hear some of it, but I couldn't even hear my phone to see if I connected. I don't know how anyone does it. I wanted to put a part of the show on my voicemail, but I couldn't even hear the instructions to record a new greeting. Like I said, I don't know how anyone does it.

i hate cell phones. i only use my moms when i go out with my friend (she gets lost easily) or at concerts so i can call and say when ill be home.

I rarely use my cellphone. I got it for Christmas, but I just keep it with me when I travel because my car is a piece of shit. Other times I just use it if I need to get ahold of someone (Which isn't often because I hate using the phone), or I'm calling my house to let someone know that I'm on my way home after a show.

alright... so i had to miss warped tour when it rolled through dallas this past summer
fucking family vacation *gag*
but my friend took pics for me...
'cause he knew i was really ticked off
and he's got this picture of the ataris from way far back
and there are 6 cell phones in the air, lol
but you can make out what kind of phones they are
and i think they're taking pictures with thier phones
... i never understood that...
why the hell are you taking pictures with your phone
isn't that was cameras are for?
then again... i know some shows have a thing against cameras
but as my friend proved, it's not difficult to sneak one in
